When your dad texts you: "I'm really proud of you, lol"

He thought it meant "lots of love".

He's never messaged 'lol' again, and has signed off every text and family chat message for 20 years with "hol"…heaps of love.

The latest photos came through from when our founder Matt was MC-ing the , and this story came to mind.

We're rapt to announce we've been appointed as the main contact for the IT and Digital sector, for the Leading Employers Group - helping to grow opportunities in 7 different sectors in Rotorua.

This is a project run in collaboration with principals from all high schools, MSD, MOE, Chamber of Commerce and MBIE. We're rapt to be involved and look forward to growing the opportunities in the IT and Digital sector! ✨🎉

We've got a new venture we're launching later this year: Kōrero Mai. For anyone learning a new language you'll know the hardest part is finding people you can practice with. And that if you immerse yourself in the language you'll pick it up faster.

If you know any business in Aotearoa that speaks te reo Māori and is happy for people to converse with them please send us a message. We'd love to launch this tool for people to find how they can immerse themselves in te reo Māori in everyday life 🙏

Announcing our third winner for the Techweek competition App Launchpad 🎉

10% of the submissions were to do with mental health, so we asked if 5 of them wanted to join forces - with each of their ideas inside a single app.

It turns out that they are each from 4 different high schools, which wasn't planned or considered, but this app has the following features:

- CBT affirmations you can choose to favourite
- request an affirmation from someone in the community
- full collection of resources and contact numbers of agencies already in this space
- one click button to text or call a helpline
- saved numbers with pre-recorded help messages for when things are dire or help is needed

We couldn't ignore the heartbeat of the community, and talking to principals told us this was the number 1 issue they're dealing with at school.

The students who are joining forces are Mack from Boys High, Krisha from JPC, Isherveer from Heights, Te Rangi from Lakes and Janine from JPC.

We love that they're keen to join forces and we look forward to launching this much needed mental health app with them 👌✨🙏
