Some pieces hold more of my heart than others. 🤍

A little girl reaching towards a fantail… carrying feelings that are sometimes easier to draw than to say aloud.

For this reel, I’ve added my own voice reading the words behind the artwork. Sharing it feels vulnerable, but I wanted you to hear the story in my voice.

This piece is my entry into the Top Ten People’s Choice Award at the Queenstown Art Show. Having something so personal be part of the show means so much to me.

✨ A little fantail, a little magic… ✨

There’s something so special about watching a little fantail come to life, one brushstroke at a time. 🖌️

In this next stage of my artwork, I’m reverse hand-painting the fantail onto Perspex, carefully adding the tiny details that give this beautiful little bird its character.

In New Zealand, fantails often remind us of connection, memories, and those we hold close to our hearts. 🤍

And now I have a little dilemma…

Somewhere between growing up and growing older, there’s a little child we still carry within us.

Sometimes the smallest visitor carries the deepest meaning. 🤍

In my work, the fantail represents connection—a little companion that reminds us we aren’t alone. A sense of someone dear still close, or the gentle comfort of nature when words aren’t needed.

Beside this little girl, it holds that feeling of childhood wonder, when a bird could become a friend and a quiet moment could mean everything.
