We’re incredibly proud to share that Digital Diligence Limited was named the Overall Winner of the 2025 Trees of Remembrance at Nelson Airport!

The Trees of Remembrance is a beautiful annual initiative supporting Nelson Tasman Hospice, raising vital funds and awareness for the compassionate care they provide to individuals and whānau across our region.

Seeing the trees on display at Nelson Airport is a powerful reminder of community, remembrance, and generosity and it was an honour for DDL to be part of something so meaningful.

💛 A truly heartfelt thank you to the all of the incredible organisations who helped make this so special.

A big thank you to the amazing local businesses who donated the prizes DDL won:

To Nelson Tasman Hospice - thank you for the compassion, dignity, and care you provide every single day. The mahi you do for our community and our whānau is extraordinary, and we’re honoured to support your kaupapa.

To Nelson Airport New Zealand - thank you for hosting the Trees of Remembrance and for your generosity in gifting a full year of corporate parking as part of the prize. Your support helps turn a beautiful idea into a powerful community fundraiser.

To Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce - thank you for the Nelson Tasman Edition of Monopoly and Top Trumps. Such a fun and uniquely local way to celebrate our region and the businesses within it.

To Beachside Nelson Conference & Events Centre - thank you for your generous Grazing Box voucher. A thoughtful and delicious contribution that added to the joy of the win.

To Making Teams Work - thank you for the “How to Boil a Frog” workshop voucher. A brilliant opportunity for learning, reflection, and growth - and a very appreciated addition to the prize.

💛 Every one of these contributions reflects the generosity and heart of our local business community. Thank you for backing a cause that truly matters and for standing alongside Nelson Tasman Hospice to support care, dignity, and compassion for those who need it most.

And a HUGE Ngā mihi nui to all the local businesses who had trees, sponsored, created, voted, and donated - with out you, this wouldn't have been possible.

This campaign is a perfect example of what happens when local businesses come together for a cause that truly matters. If you’re a business in the Nelson Tasman region and looking for a way to give back in a visible, heartfelt way - Trees of Remembrance is absolutely worth getting involved in this year.

👉 What’s next? Hands Up for Hospice
Another important Hospice fundraiser is Hands Up for Hospice, which invites individuals, workplaces, schools, and community groups to get involved by:

🎄VOTING CLOSES TODAY!🎄

Today is the final day to choose your favourite tree in the Nelson Airport Trees of Remembrance.
(The DDL tree hehe)

Digital Diligence has sponsored a Tree of Remembrance this year at the The Nelson Airport to support The Nelson Tasman Hospice - here is our tree!
We would love it if you could please vote for us here:

Nelson Tasman Hospice is a charitable trust that provides specialist palliative care to people of all ages living with life-limiting illnesses. Its focus is on comfort, dignity, and quality of life, supporting both patients and their whānau through illness, death, and bereavement.

This kaupapa is incredibly close to our hearts, especially right now. My grandad wasn't at the point of needing hospice care. He seemed to be doing better, he actually passed while he was cooking his brekky - knowing my grandad the part he would have been most put out by wasn't the fact that he passed, it would have been that he missed out on his eggs and friend spuds! 😝

The Nelson Tasman Hospice do amazing things for the people they care for and the patients whānau as well. one thing I loved is each in patient has their own sliding door and wee private deck out side their room (so amazing for if they can't leave their bed but want fresh air & nature), they have accommodation for whānau to use if they are visiting from out of town, only asking for koha to stay there.
They also care for patients in the community who would prefer to be at home while on palliative care.

I haven't even scratched the surface of while this amazing organisation does - but next time you are donating anything, please think of the Nelson Tasman Hospice as all profits go directly to looking after the people in their care.

Ngā mihi nui,
Tim & Savannah

✨ Meet Ting - the newest member of the DDL Whānau! ✨

Kia ora,

My name is Ting Tian.
I’m originally from China, where I began my career as a flight attendant. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Software Development.
My professional background also includes experience in hospitality and retail, which helped me develop strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills.

I’m looking forward to continuing to strengthen my technical expertise and applying it to solve real-world problems through technologies. My goals are to build confidence in full-stack development, contribute meaningfully to team projects, and grow into a well-rounded and independent developer. On a personal level, I aim to enhance my communication and leadership skills, build meaningful professional relationships, and one day mentor others who are new to the tech industry - just as others have supported me.

🎉 We’re so excited to have Ting on board - her curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and growing technical capabilities are already shining through, and we can’t wait to see all she’ll achieve for our clients.

We're proud to announce that we are Drone Certified here at Digital Diligence!

Tim Smart-Pullyn our Solution Architect and a Director of Digital Diligence, is now officially CAA Part 101 certified for aerial drone operations across Aotearoa and Savannah's not far behind!

So - how do drones align to DDL's services and capabilities? You're a software company, right?

We see drones (aerial, land and underwater) as outstanding platforms through which businesses can collect data through means and methods that they couldn't previously - with the proliferation of commercial-ready drones off-the-shelf, companies can now readily;

• Capture and create 2D and 3D models of their environments/sites to monitor and plan for changes
• Collect data samples from onboard sensors and/or payloads to collect information from afar
• Enhance health and safety practices (and their associated costs) through accessing hard-to-reach locations to get a visual assessment done quickly with much less risk

So - you're not going to see us spending our days flying drones all of a sudden - but being certified, and deeply familiar with the uses and workflows outlined above, helps us work alongside organisations to integrate drone capabilities into business-ready systems and structures - and much like our position on AI, we believe drone missions offer much more value when implemented with business software, processes and data in mind, and not done in isolation.

For DDL, drone tech adds a new layer to how we deliver smart, visual, and data-driven solutions, integrated into the business systems and tools that support both tactical and strategic operations and decision making.

We were proud to attend Dev Day Aotearoa 2025 along with Zoho Australia and New Zealand where we connected with 350+ devs, tech leaders, and innovators shaping the future of Aotearoa’s digital landscape.

Tim hosted an afternoon tea session where he spoke on how low-code development platforms such as Zoho have gone from being shunned as the 'awkward cousin' stuck between the duopoly of custom apps vs off the shelf, to being hugely capable powerhouses in their own right - loved by technical and non-technical users alike

Great kōrero, sharp insights, and inspiring energy from NZ’s tech whānau.

Ngā mihi to everyone who came by. Let’s keep building, learning, and collaborating.
