*****Affordable wifi at home*****

Do you need internet at home, or do you know of someone who might?

With all that is going on in our world and the need for physical distancing, the ability to be digitally connected with each other has never been more important. Libraries Horowhenua is proud to be a Skinny JUMP partner, and help connect our community.

Skinny JUMP (previously Spark JUMP) is designed for households at risk of digital exclusion, who don’t already have a broadband connection at home.

Skinny Jump is flexible prepaid broadband: Only $5 for 30GB of data, no contracts or credit checks, and the modem comes free of charge. Just top up as you go.

The eligibility criteria for JUMP has been widened, if you identify with one or more of the following groups, this could be for you:

Families with children
Seniors
People with disabilities
Migrants and refugees with English as a second language
Māori & Pasifika youth
Offenders and ex-offenders
People living in social housing

If you would like to refer yourself, or someone you know, contact Renee on 0272024944 or email [email protected]

Every New Zealander deserves to have the opportunities to learn and thrive in the modern digital world.

Due to the recent COVID-19 situation, many local Jump partners have closed temporarily. Some partners can help you sign up over the phone. You can find out by selecting a partner on the map and giving them a ring. We’re updating the partner map with these details every day.

“This morning the Trustees have approved that Te Hinaki Education Trust will be putting the direct debit’s on hold from Monday 30 March 2020 (payment holiday to be added to the end of your contract) for the next month while we are in lock down, as we appreciate in these uncertain times that a lot of our families will be struggling financially. Tu meke. Outstanding!!
A HUUUGE thank you to the Rotary Club of Levin.
This week, Rotary presented a cheque for $100,000 to the Chair of the Te Hinaki Education Trust, Doug Rowan.
It represents the proceeds of the sale of the Charity House that Rotary has been building and was auctioned earlier this year.

“It’s really humbling to get this large amount” said Mr Rowan.

This project has demonstrated the strength of the community spirit in the Horowhenua.
Each sector connecting, doing their part to support Great Educational Outcomes for all our students.
Rotary has now enabled the Te Hinaki Trust to more effectively break down barriers for schools and whanau to give our students the success they deserve.
