Here's a classic Tait story from the late ’90s... 📻

In '98, a new portable hit the market: the Tait Orca. Compact, capable, and designed for a growing demand for smaller handheld radios. It stood out quickly, helped along by a bit of unconventional marketing.

During a dealer pitch, someone challenged our Sales Manager to prove how rugged the Tait Orca really was. So he threw it on the floor. 💥

The Orca hit hard, bent its aerial, but kept working as normal. The competitor’s radio didn’t survive the same test, with a broken antenna, a cracked case, and a shattered screen. That moment helped cement the Orca's place in the Tait family, and it went on to shape an entire line of portable radios.

Our radios were , long before we gave it a name. 💪

Tait T2010 4 channel and a T2015 24 channel radio available in 66-88mhz band, suitable for recieving Fire and Police, comes with Powerloom & an antenna kit available. Tait TM8200 UHF 450-520mhz, no mount bracket but includes short power cable and microphone. screen has some pixel lines which seems to improve once it warms up. The dreaded Baofeng UV-5R radio... many of you may have been sold one of these as a "scanner" technically only licensed amateur radio users are legally allowed to have these due to them being capable of transmitting on many "restricted" frequencies. I'm not interested in enforcement of the law, however...

If you have one of these I have the ability to program them with the frequencies you want to listen to, have it display the channel name and disable the ability to accidentally transmit, contact me if you would like me to do this for you.
