Kia ora koutou,
September's Repair Café was part of Repair Café Aotearoa's Repair Month, and what a day it was. Stopped watches went home ticking again. People learned to sharpen their own secateurs and kitchen knives, just in time for spring pruning. And our hand darning session showed everyone how to bring holey socks and jumpers back into use. Huge thanks to our fixers and to everyone who came along.
This month is a big one. Our October Repair Café is part of the Spring Fair and International Repair Day, and we're running an extra-long session:
🛠️Riverlution | 10am to 2pm | Richmond Community Garden
Consumer NZ is joining us to chat about what we repair most. Since the start of 2026, 1,203 items have come through our doors, and 872 have gone home fixed. Lamps top the list (38), then small kitchen items (36) and power tools (19). If you've ever wondered why your toaster keeps giving up, come and ask.
Please note: there's no Repair Café on the third Tuesday this month. Save your repairs for the long session instead.
Bring your broken bits and blunt tools, and we'll see what we can do together. Everything we fix is one less thing in the bin.
