Most Intelligent mind in one place:
Einstein, Bohr, Heisenberg, Schrödinger, Curie, Lorentz, Bragg! All these names are associated with one or the other theory, equation or formula in Physics. Have you ever wondered how it would have been when all of the geniuses got together?
World’s most intelligent minds attended the conference at International Solvay Institute for Physics, Brussels, Belgium in 1927. Niels Bohr and Albert Einstein along with 27 others met to discuss the quantum theory.
Solvay Conference on Electrons and Photons witnessed Bohr-Einstein debate over quantum mechanics. Einstein quoted,”God does not play dice”, in disagreement to Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle. Bohr replied, “Einstein, stop telling God what to do.”
Erwin Schrodinger was another highlight of the Solvay Conference. He put forward his famous quantum theory called Schrodinger’s Cat eight years after this conference. He was awarded Nobel Prize in Physics for the formulation of the Schrodinger equation.
17 of these 29 attendees later became Nobel Prize winners. Also, Marie Curie became the only one to receive Nobel in two separate disciplines i.e. Physics and Chemistry. She was the first woman to win Nobel Prize.
