Here is what else is New in v4.0.3.0-beta:
- Full Ember+ GPIO support added
- New Upload Remote Voice-Tracking button
- New Named Remote Connections added
- Support for pre-compressed ~rvt files added
- New 'Apply Offline Encoding DSPs' added to PFL Player
- Multi Track Segue Editor is now a Docking Panel
- New Global Statistic Log added for detailed reports
- DJ-Players now auto-size to fill the entire playlist
- Two DJ-Player's FX changed to DAmp and Comp
- DJ-Player Deadlock bug-fix
- relative UNC path normalization bug-fix
- Various smaller optimizations
- Other smaller bug-fixes
Full Ember+ GPIO support added:
The GPIO client has been enhances by a new Ember+ tab including the ability to configure two Ember+ providers and related mappings.
In addition new Ember+ control-commands and macros have been added, e.g. EXEC_SEND_EMBER1/2_GET/SET or ${EMBER:path}.
See the user appendix for details about these commands/macros.
The Ember+ mapping defines an Ember-Path to a parameter leaf node and allows you to react on any parameter value change.
The Ember+ GPIO interface allows full 2-way communication with any Ember+ supported device, e.g. from Lawo, DHD, Studer, D&R, AVT, Axia, Junger, Orban etc.
New Named Remote Connections added
As per your request, you can now configure so called named connections on the client side – see general settings, section ‘Encoding/Recording’ click on the ‘More Remote Voice Tracking Options…’ button.
A named connection allows you to specify a name for all RVT credentials. Instead of entering all data all the time, you can now just select a named entry from the URL combobox.
Support for pre-compressed ~rvt files added
As per your request, you can now use pre-compressed remote audio file versions.
The pre-compressed file must reside in the same location as the original filename and have the same filename plus “.~rvt.ext” – where ‘.ext’ is the compressed file extension.
E.g.
Original: C:\Music\Test.mp3
PreCompressed: C:\Music\Test.mp3.~rvt.wma
Note!: The pre-compressed version MUST be hidden (using the regular windows file attribute/flag)!
You can ‘quickly’ create pre-compressed versions from within ProppFrexx.
E.g. just use any tracks in a playlist window, select them and then right-click and specify ‘Selection -> Convert to -> Save as WMA…’
In the upcoming Ecoding dialog you might then leave the “Save to Folder” empty (this will use the current folder) and specify “${originalfilename}.~rvt” as the Filename.
Whenever the string ~rvt is recognized in an encoding – the related file will now automatically be flagged as ‘hidden’.
New 'Apply Offline Encoding DSPs' added to PFL Player
If you are working with .wav files and have fully loaded a track into a PFL Player’s memory (see general settings, section ‘Player Settings’, ‘Load Tracks into Memory if not bigger than’),
you might then use a new menu called “Apply Offline Encoding DSPs” – when you right-click on the PFL name label.
This will apply the configured Encoding DSPs (see general settings, section ‘Encoding/Recording’) to this file in an offline, meaning destructive way.
This might be helpful e.g. when doing Voice Tracking and you need to apply extra DSPs to such voice files, e.g. in order to normalize or level them using a compressor/processor DSP.
Multi Track Segue Editor is now a Docking Panel
Many users have requested it. The Segue Editor is now a Docking Panel Window and as such can be arranged like any other.
Still, it is recommended to close or AutoHide (slide it away) if not used anymore in order to save resources and CPU.
Since if it is permanently open/visible and you specified to Auto-Update it with the current selected playlist track, it will constantly be refreshed.
New Global Statistic Log added for detailed reports
A new global statistic file might be enabled in the general settings, section ‘Logging/History’.
It uses its own format and will be used in a later version as the bases for general reports and statistical analytics.
DJ-Players now auto-size to fill the entire playlist
Yes, finally. While the DJ-Players have a minimum width, they can now scale to occupy the full space of the playlist header.
Two DJ-Player's FX changed to DAmp and Comp
I exchanged two of the existing FX of the DJ-Players FX-Section with a Dynamic Ampification (DAmp) and a Compressor (Comp) effect.
These effects might also be useful in certain Voice Tracking scenarios.
