Clay & Climate Grief: Holding What We Cannot Fix 🕯️

Doe mee aan een intieme, creatieve workshop tijdens Dutch Design Week 2025, waar klei en klimaat samenkomen. Maak met je eigen handen een persoonlijk altaar van klei, waarin klimaatgevoelens als rouw, verdriet en hoop een fysieke plek krijgen.

De klimaatcrisis kan overweldigend voelen. Met klei, gesprek en ritueel creëeren we samen ruimte om stil te staan, te vormen en te delen. Niet om iets op te lossen, maar om te voelen en te verbinden. Je hebt geen ervaring nodig, alleen nieuwsgierigheid en zin om iets met je handen te maken.

Iedere deelnemer creëert een klein, uniek altaar dat wordt geglazuurd, gebakken en later aan je wordt teruggegeven als tastbare herinnering.

Proud to have contributed to this visionary project ‘Nieuwe Vroenten. 🌱

A development plan to create a hyper sustainable and plantbased living and agricultural area for 6000 people. By growing organic, plantbased crops instead of animal agriculture, they can give back 30% of the land back to nature. Another 28% can be used for housing and renewable energy! 💚

The ‘Hemelwatertoren’ ☔️

During me and are presenting the ‘Hemelwatertoren’ - a sustainable do-it-yourself solution for rainwater management. 💦

By encouraging residents to disconnect their downspouts from the sewage system in a playful way, it establishes a natural water capture system that supports the local ecosystem around the tower. This ecosystem promotes biodiversity and reduces pressure on the sewage system.

As a designer I focus on making complex topics like climate, food and water visible and tangible. With the ‘Hemelwatertoren’ we invite people to get creative with their own tower design, and make a positive impact on their local ecosystem at the same time.

Together with work from , Ermi van Oers, and , the shows us how we can look at water from different perspectives and change our relationship with water. Come see it at the World Design Embassies ( Ketelhuisplein) this week!

Nieuwe Vroenten - a Taste for Change at 🌱

For the last two years, I have been increasingly focused on combining my design practice with making an impact through collaboration. It’s not enough for me to create and make nice things - I want to inform people to be more mindful about our living environment and inspire them to make a lasting change! 🌏

I had the opportunity to do just that by making the project ‘Nieuwe Vroenten’ come to live through visual storytelling.

is a development project that combines nature-inclusive agriculture, sustainable energy and a circular economy in an attractive, inclusive living-working landscape. It promotes cooperative food production, sustainable living and (productive) nature development. They explore the potential of plant-based food for the future development of the Netherlands and change the relation ship between farmers, citizens and agriculture. 👩‍🌾🪱

Organic Agriculture Coloring Book 🪱🍐✨

I’m so excited that the coloring book finally came in - it looks so good in print! 🥰 It’s a collaboration I did with , who grows organic red fruits all over the world and fights climate change at the same time 🍒💚

Today presented the coloring book during , Europe’s biggest organic trade fair! With this coloring book we can educate on the importance of organic farming and inspire people to choose organic in their everyday life 🌍🙏

I’m proud to show you a project I’ve been working on recently: an illustrated brochure for NaNa Bio 🥰🍒

I had the opportunity to work with this idealistic company and create this brochure from start to finish (including the design & text)! 👀✨

Nana Bio produces 100% organic fruits all over the world, while making a positive impact on our planet. They actively encourage diversity and fight the climate crisis with their organic and sustainable way of farming 🌎💚

A part of the brochure is dedicated to the female empowerment project - a sustainable initiative that creates products from the residual streams (waste) of ‘s banana trees! How cool is that? 🍌♻️

While working on this project I learned a lot about banana production and the difference between organic and non-organic farming. I was quite shocked to learn about the amount and plastic used in non-organic / conventional farming… I was not so strict before, but I will definitely only buy organic bananas from now on! 😨🍌

Indebuurt Eindhoven kwam binnenkijken in mijn atelier! 🎨🧡

“Twee jaar terug besloot Katinka het roer om te gooien en ruilde ze haar baan in de modewereld in voor een toekomst als illustrator. “Komen jullie ook even kijken in mijn atelier”, vraagt Katinka aan ons. Tuurlijk, daar zeggen we geen ‘nee’ tegen! En dus volgen we haar naar boven, de studio in. “Welkom in mijn domein.”
