To all University Applicants(JAMBITES).
After writing your Jamb, there are two important things you must do before waiting waiting to be admitted. Most applicants fail to do them and end up missing on admissions, They don't know this and feel after Jamb examinations they will be waiting for admissions just like that. I recieved calls from applicants who are confused on what to do on a daily basis hence the need to educate you on this things. These two things include but not limited to;
1. JAMB SSCE UPLOAD: Ensure you upload the SSCE you are using to seek admission on Jamb portal, this is done now only at Jamb CBT centres and should be done on time before the school finishes their post Utme registration. whether you take your SSCE to registration centre during Jamb registration, please check and make sure it reflect on Jamb portal or reupload. This process is currently ongoing.
2. POST UTME ONLINE REGISTRATION AND SOMETIMES PHYSICAL EVALUATION: I will explain this under three headings below;
i. POST-UTME (Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination):
After writing JAMB/UTME, most Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education usually conduct another screening process called Post-UTME to further select qualified candidates for admission.
This process helps institutions reduce the large number of applicants and choose the best candidates.
ii. ONLINE REGISTRATION:This is the first step in the Post-UTME process.
Candidates are required to go to the school’s official portal, create an account or log in, and then:
Fill in their personal details (name, age, gender, state of origin, etc.).
Input their JAMB registration number and UTME score.
Upload required documents (passport photograph, O’level result—WAEC/NECO, JAMB result slip, etc.).
Pay the Post-UTME application fee (usually ₦2,000).
Print the acknowledgement/registration slip.
This stage can be done anywhere online (cybercafé, phone, or computer with internet).
iii. PHYSICAL EVALUATION / SCREENING:
Sometimes, after online registration, the school may ask candidates to appear physically on campus for further verification or evaluation.
This may involve:
Document screening (checking WAEC/NECO original results, JAMB slip, birth certificate, local government/state of origin certificate, etc.).
Biometric verification (thumbprint/fingerprint).
In some schools, candidates may also write a Post-UTME exam/test physically.
For polytechnics or colleges, they may even check for physical fitness (especially in courses like Nursing, Military/Paramilitary, or Sports-related fields).
This process of online postutme and physical screening is currently ongoing in almost all universities, check the date and time of your choices of institution before you miss out.
