You didn’t suddenly become bad at math.

It happened slowly.

One topic confused you, you ignored it.

Another one came, you guessed your way through it.

Then another, you just copied notes and moved on.

Now everything feels like too much and you’re tired.

You’ve even started thinking maybe this is just not for me.

You need to understand that your brain is not the problem but the gaps in your understanding are.

Math rewards patience.

If you go back and truly understand the basics, you’ll notice something.

The same topics that used to confuse you will start making sense.

This is the reason you keep avoiding maths.

Be honest with yourself.

Sometimes, you don’t even want to open your math book.

You delay it.

You say, I’ll read later, but later never comes.

It’s not because you’re lazy but because of how math makes you feel.

Every time you try you get confused, feel slow or you feel behind.

So your brain does something natural.

It avoids it because it doesn’t want that feeling again.

Here’s what you need to understand.

Avoiding math doesn’t remove the problem, it only makes it bigger.

While you’re avoiding it, the topics are increasing, the gap is growing and the fear becomes stronger.

So the solution is not to wait until you feel ready.

The solution is to start small, I mean very small.

Start with one question, one concept and one clear step and slowly that fear begins to reduce.

You don’t overcome math by running from it.
You overcome it by facing it the right way.

Education is not just about passing exams.

It’s about building yourself.

When you understand what you’re learning, you gain confidence.

You start believing in your ability to solve problems.

That confidence affects everything.

So don’t give up on education, you just need a better way to learn.

When you're able to explain a word problem step by step, you'll get the answer without stress.

I used a 4 step formula to solve this word problem.

If you'll love to know more about this 4 step formula, I have a free video that explains it.

If math has ever confused you, frustrated you, or made you feel stuck, read this.

You open your math book.

You read the question once, twice, but it still doesn’t make sense.

In class, the teacher is explaining but you’re just copying and not really understanding.

During tests, it gets worse.

You see the questions and your mind goes blank.

At some point, you start telling yourself 'maybe I’m just not good at math' but that’s not true.

The real problem is that you were never shown how to actually understand math.

Most students are just cramming formulas, memorizing steps and hoping it works, that’s why everything feels confusing.

So I created something simple to fix that.

Have you noticed something?

Whenever a new topic is introduced, you don’t even feel ready for it.

You’re still trying to understand the previous one but the class keeps moving.

Slowly, you start falling behind.

Then one day, you just accept it, I don’t understand math but that’s not true.

You were just never given the chance to properly understand the basics.

Math is like a ladder.

If one step is weak, every step above it becomes unstable.

That’s why fractions affect percentages, percentages affect word problems and word problems affect everything.

So when you struggle with a hard topic, the real problem might be something simple you didn’t fully understand before.

Fix the basics.

Everything else becomes easier to understand.

These are two methods used in factorizing a quadratic equation.

Now, the best way to learn how to factorize without being confused when numbers are changed is mastering one method.

You need to master any of these methods very well.

You need to know when to multiply signs and how to get the roots of the equation.

You master a method when you use it to solve frequently.

The more you solve, the more you understand what you're doing.

So, next time you want to factorize a quadratic equation, use the method you know best and be very careful with the signs.

Reading your math book is not the problem.

Understanding what you are reading is the main deal.

You’ve probably told yourself, “I need to read more.”

So you sit down, open your math book and start reading.

After some minutes you realize you’re just moving your eyes across the page.

Nothing is really entering your head.

You read examples, you nod a little but when you try to solve on your own, you’re stuck again.

At that point, you may start thinking "Oh maybe I didn’t read enough" but that’s not true.

The problem is not that you didn't read well, the problem is that you didn't understand what you were reading.

Math is not like a storybook.

You don’t just read and move on.

You have to pause, think and break things down.

Until you start learning how to understand, reading more won’t change anything.

Stop memorizing solution steps and start understanding it.

Most of the time, when you’re reading math, you’re trying to remember steps.

This is what happens when you memorize steps.

Let's take for instance.

A question on factorization of a quadratic equation is being solved by your maths teacher.

Let's say the teacher's name is Teacher Flora.

Now, Teacher Flora factorized 3x² + 7x - 2 in your note.

When it is time for you to study, you choose to memorize each step that she took.

You memorize without understanding why and how each step is leading to another.

Now, the teacher said she'll give a test on the same topic.

You get so excited because you had studied the previous day.

Teacher Flora starts writing the question on the board.

Number 1: Factorize x² + 5x +6

Number 2: Factorize 2x² - 7x - 5

You see the question, everywhere first blur.

You begin to ask yourself " how now"

You have no choice than to call the attention of Teacher Flora and she tells you " Use the same method I used in solving the one in your note"

At that point, your confusion becomes more confused.

This tells you that memorizing might help you pass one or two questions but it will not give you confidence.

Understanding is different.

When you understand, you know what the question is asking, why you’re taking a step and how you can adjust even if the question changes.

So, next time you're going through a solution, don't just memorize the steps, understand it.
