For years, I struggled to find many Nupe songs especially old ones — from wazi to zikiri and other traditional sounds. Sometimes, I would search endlessly with little or no results.
One day I asked myself: What if I could build a platform where Nupe people, just like me, could easily find, stream, and download any song they wanted?
That question gave birth to Tswangi.
But Tswangi is much more than just music. It’s a platform dedicated to preserving and celebrating Nupe culture. Alongside songs, Tswangi will host our proverbs, stories, and histories — the treasures that define who we are.
I’ve noticed how quickly our culture and history are fading away. Apart from the occasional Nupe history I come across on Ndagi Abdullahi page or some random Facebook posts, it’s rare to find anyone consistently telling our story — and especially in our own language.
That’s why Tswangi goes beyond entertainment. It’s about identity, preservation, and pride. A place where every Nupe person can reconnect with their roots and every new generation can easily access the sounds and wisdom of our people.
Tswangi is not just an app. It’s our archive. Our voice. Our future.
