YOU CAN’T BE IN UNIVERSITY AND STILL WRITE JAMB — NEW JAMB UPDATE 🚨
A lot of students need to sit down and read this carefully.
JAMB has made it clear: you cannot run two admissions at the same time.
If you accepted admission last year (2025) into any university, polytechnic, college of education, or monotechnic, you WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED JAMB 2026 ADMISSION EXCEPT YOUR PROVIDE PROOF OF WITHDRAWAL FROM THE INSTITUTION.
Yes. Even if you don’t like the course.
Even if you want to change school.
Even if you think “I’ll just try again.”
Once you accepted the admission, JAMB already recognizes you as a student.
So what does this mean?
If you are currently schooling, or you accepted admission last year, you have only TWO options:
Option 1:
Continue with the admission you already accepted.
No JAMB. No new course. No new school.
Option 2:
Formally withdraw your admission from that school.
This means writing a withdrawal letter and ensuring your admission is cleared from the system.
Only after this can you legally register for a new JAMB exam.
Now, let’s clear another confusion 👇
If you rejected admission in 2025 (you did NOT accept it on CAPS), then you are FREE to register JAMB 2026.
No problem. No restriction.
But if you clicked “ACCEPT” last year and did nothing after that, JAMB sees you as an active student.
And no, you cannot be in school and still “try JAMB again on the side.”
JAMB will block it.
This update is very important because many students don’t know this until it’s too late.
Before you register for JAMB:
• Check your CAPS status
• Confirm whether you accepted any admission last year
• Decide wisely, continue or withdraw
One wrong assumption can waste an entire year.
Stay informed.
