π¨ HOW TO IDENTIFY A FAKE NERD AGENT OR SCAMMER π¨
Before you send money to anyone claiming to be a NERD Agent, take a few minutes to VERIFY! π
Always ask the person to share the link to their official page on the NERD Portal.
When they send the link, click on it and carefully check the details displayed on the portal, including:
β
Agentβs Name
β
Business Name
β
Business Address
β
Contact/Phone Number
Then, compare these details with the information the person provided to you.
β οΈ If you notice any discrepancy, STOP!
Do not send money immediately. Take precautions and properly verify the personβs identity and agent status before making any payment.
β οΈ WHAT ABOUT THE MIDDLEmen?
Not everyone who is collecting NERD jobs from students is necessarily a fake agent or scammer.
Some are simply middlemen. They collect NERD jobs from students and then look for an accredited NERD Agent to process the job for them, often at a discounted rate.
However, the problem is that some middlemen add a significant markup to the official/commonly charged agent fee.
For example, a student may be charged β¦15,000 or more, while many accredited agents may process the same service for around β¦10,000.
This creates unnecessary complaints when students later report to the NERD office that agents are charging above the expected price.
π‘ Our advice to students:
Before paying, ask questions. Know whether you are dealing directly with an accredited NERD Agent or a middleman. Verify the agent details on the NERD Portal and understand exactly what you are paying for.
STAY ALERT. VERIFY FIRST. PAY LATER.
π Donβt fall victim to scammersβand donβt overpay unnecessarily!
