5 Free alternative to Photoshop for Windows & Mac for your graphic designs.

I see some designers who find it very difficult to use Photoshop because of its high premium cost on Windows and Mac which has made having a free alternative very handy for graphic designers who are interested in creating professional designs.

Aside from the above fact Photoshop requires a system with a good graphic card, processor, RAM and storage making it impossible for users with low performance PC's to use.

That is the reason I will be sharing 5 free alternative graphic design open source softwares

By the way, Photoshop as you know is the best paid graphic design software but that doesn't mean designers who can't afford its premium cost can't have a handy alternative

5 free alternative to Photoshop for Windows & Mac

1. GIMP-

My best free alternative to Photoshop will be GIMP which stands for GNU manipulation program, mush like Photoshop, GIMP allows you to manipulate photos in anyway imaginable and it's a complete free open source manipulation tool, that was made by a dedicated team of volunteers.

It has a lot of the same functionality as Photoshop and unlike Photoshop, you can run GIMP on Linux without the need for windows emulators.

2. Krita

Krita is geared toward painting in 2d animation unlike GIMP, Krita is also an open source web application and one thing I really like about it is that it allows you to output file with a CMYK color profile.

This is naturally rare for open source software.

3. Photopea

It is a web based application similar to Photoshop both on how it looks and how it functions. One thing I really like with Photopea is working with smart objects. If you already familiar with Photoshop then you will have no difficulty using Photopea

4. Lightroom

Lightroom is an application for organizing Photos and it also allows you to make common edits to things like color channel, white balance, contrast and exposure it doesn't have a more advance features of Photoshop like layers and filter effects

Lightroom is geared more toward working with a batch through of photos and allows you to organize them more efficiently

5. Darktable

Darktable is similar to Lightroom which has lots of photo manipulation tool similar to Lightroom.
