Every school marks attendance. But here is a question. What do you actually do with it?

For most schools, it sits in a register and nobody looks at it again until the term ends.

Now imagine you could see it clearly.

You would notice when a pupil who always came to school starts missing days. Not at the end of term. While it is still early.

You would spot when a child’s attendance is dropping and their performance is dropping with it. That is usually a sign something is going on at home or in class.

We did not buy a school management system and simply resell it.

We used one. We saw where it fell short for the way Nigerian schools actually run. And we made the harder decision to rebuild.

That is how EduTab 2.0 came about.

Not from a boardroom idea about what schools should want, but from watching real schools struggle with tools that were built for somewhere else.

Building for schools here means designing around real conditions. Busy administrators. Staff with mixed comfort levels around technology. The need for things to just work without a long manual.

We are still learning from every school we work with. But rebuilding, rather than reselling, is the decision I am most glad we made. #2.0
