Easy, you say. Except you did not imagine the “seller” was a con-artist posing as the owner of the car and the merchandise was in a city 9 hours away by road. How does the story end? Well, the buyer inspected the car (by proxy) and made payment into a bank account. No Problem, right? Nope. The “seller” never showed at inspections and was not the authorized seller or owner of the car therefore when
payment was made, the “seller” walked away with the buyer’s cash. Mind you all the documentation for the car was inspected thus removing suspicions. Well, that was the experience of one of our founders which led him to building this escrow Platform. He could have saved himself all that money and heartache if he had used a payment protection Platform because the money would never have been released to the con-artist since merchandise was never going to be released to the buyer.
