ONE of the biggest ENEMIES of an UPCOMING artist or music minister is PRIDE.
Talent can open doors, but pride will quietly shut them.
As a sound engineer and music director, I have seen many incredibly gifted and promising artists with great potential lose opportunities because they became proud too early. They stopped listening to correction, ignored advice, looked down on people who wanted to help them, and believed they had already arrived.
Today, many of those same people are left listening to their own songs by themselves—not because they lacked talent, but because pride drove away the very people God positioned to help them grow.
The higher you want to go, the more teachable and humble you must become.
No matter how gifted you are, there will always be something to learn, someone to learn from, and room to improve. The people who remain relevant are not always the most talented; they are often the most humble, disciplined, and willing to grow.
Remember, pride makes you reject correction, while humility attracts favor, wisdom, and lasting relationships.
If you're an upcoming artist or music minister, never let a few compliments make you unreachable. Stay humble. Stay teachable. Respect people. Value constructive criticism. Your character will take you farther than your talent ever can.
Talent may get you noticed, but humility will keep you needed.
