Not all UX is the same - just like not all doctors treat every illness. 💡

UX is a broad field with multiple disciplines, and understanding the right one can make or break your product.

I came across Claire Rackstraw’s breakdown of the Quadrant Model, and it’s a must-know for founders & devs building user-first products:

🔹 Experience Strategy: Where UX meets business. Ideal for strategic thinkers shaping the big picture.

🔹 Interaction Design: Making systems & users click (literally). If you love crafting seamless flows, this is for you.

🔹 User Research: Data-driven decisions win. The best products are backed by research, not guesswork.

🔹 Information Architecture: Structuring digital spaces so users don’t get lost. Think of it as UX meets library science.

UX isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about usability, retention, and seamless interactions. Master these, and your product won’t just exist; it’ll thrive.

For the past few months, I’ve been getting at least one design gig every month, looks like the consistency is paying off 👉🏻👈🏻
Nothing special, honestly. Same thing most of us do. Just keep applying and keep showing up. It kinda adds up.

Once you know the idea and that it is possible to do something, actually finding out how to do that thing becomes significantly easier and is simply a Google search away most of the times.

As an introvert, showing my face online has always felt like stepping on stage with no rehearsal…

I know I haven’t really been putting my face out there, I have never actually, until last week, I finally doxxed myself, I posted my picture on LinkedIn and on X. It felt weird 😂 Like everyone suddenly can just see me now, just like that..

And this is me editing my first video. I’m finally starting this journey properly.
The video was honestly terrible, so many cuts and retakes, but I will be posting it anyway. I guess I need to learn how to do these things in one take someday.

The truth is, I need more clients, I need more money, and most importantly, I’m building a solution that will push Africa’s tech industry higher. Africans shouldn’t still be seen as “developing” in tech in 2025. We’re capable of creating world-class products.

So from now on, it’s important I show my face. I’ll be sharing my journey here, asking questions, seeking help, and building these solutions with the community.

10+ COMPLETED WEBSITE PROJECTS - ZERO REFERRALS

I recently discovered the REAL reason I wasn’t getting referrals, even after completing 10+ website projects this year.
And honestly… I felt it.

At first, I blamed skill. Maybe I just wasn’t good enough. Maybe something was off in my design process or handoff. But then I came across a YouTube creator who said something that hit me, he said and I quote: “Clients don’t refer you because of the final design. They refer you because of how you made them feel throughout the process.”

Comfort. Clarity. Peace of mind.
Not leaving them in the dark. Not making them guess. Not disappearing until delivery.

I thought I was doing all that. I genuinely did.
So realizing my service wasn’t as strong as I believed? It hurt, but it also opened my eyes.

Now I know exactly what to fix. And I’m fixing it.

Real talk:
What’s that one UX thing in your product you KNOW is broken…
…but you keep telling yourself,
“We’ll fix it later.”

Spoiler:
Later never comes.
Not because you’re lazy,
but because “later” always loses the fight against new features, investor updates, and deadlines.

Meanwhile…
that tiny UX crack you ignored?
It becomes a leak.
Then a hole.
Then that slowly kills adoption while everyone wonders:
“Why aren’t users sticking?”

Here’s the painful truth:
The UX issues that hurt the most are the ones you don’t see,
the ones users feel but never bother to report.

So what’s the fix?

1. Audit your product with fresh eyes.
Pretend you’re a first-time user.
You’ll be shocked at the friction you’ve normalized.

2. Bring someone in whose ONLY job is to spot the invisible.
Usability testers,
people who live in the blind spots.

3. Fix the small things BEFORE they become big things.
A clearer button, a shorter flow, one less step…
These are often the upgrades that save a product.

Because here’s the conclusion most founders learn too late:
Products don’t fail from lack of features.
They fail from lack of clarity.

And clarity is UX.

Redesigned Sorce - Tinder for jobs

I came across Sorce on X. Sorce an app that lets you apply for jobs by swiping left and right, just like Tinder but for jobs.

You swipe right, and their AI agent goes to the company website and applies for you; you swipe left, and it rejects the job.

I downloaded and tried out the app immediately and really liked the idea. I thought I should redesign and improve the swipe experience to make applying for jobs fun and easy.

Just got a MacBook

As an ex senior network engineer, I have always loved working with Windows laptops more than Macs because of the flexibility, like partitioning hard drives, running two OSes on one drive, using Windows for design, running networking tools, and Ubuntu to improve my frontend skills. I just love the technicalities of Windows laptops.

But recently, my laptop started lagging a lot when working on Figma, it was frustrating, especially during client presentations. I actually considered getting another Windows laptop, but after some research, I decided to go for a 21” M1 MacBook, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage. There’s something about these M1 Macs, they just work perfectly, like a glitch-free machine.

I want to say thanks to my clients, it’s literally their support that made this possible!

Yes that's a win, but what about the struggle, here struggling to close two clients in one month..

Why do some websites just feel trustworthy?

I think it really comes down to three obvious but tricky things.

First is the visuals:
I’m not talking about crazy animations or interactions, it just needs to look up to date.
One of the trends right now is minimalism,
so you don’t need much to make a site look modern.

Second is real, high-quality images:
Bad or low-quality images can completely
ruin your hard work.

And lastly, reviews.

So yeah, if you’ve got these three things,
I’m pretty sure your website won’t be a
problem.

YES, THERE'S A CONCEPT OF COPYING THAT WORKS.

For instance:

There was Uber… then Bolt… then InDrive.

There was Friendster.. then MySpace.. then Facebook

Same with countless “face copies” of
popular apps.

But here’s the thing: each of these
companies still had to define their
own unique selling proposition, the
thing that sets them apart from the
original.

If all you sell is “the bow on the
packaging,” you’ll quickly blend
into the dozens of similar options
already out there. What wins people
over is the story and value only your
product brings.

Founders, knowing your product,
market, and audience gives you the
tools to tell a story that resonates,
not just describe what’s in front of you.
