We are excited to announce that Muryanmu, an initiative of YandyTech Community, has been selected for the Digital Democracy Innovation in Sub-Saharan Africa Fund (DDISA) tier 2 grant, to scale our civic technology solution ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections.

This support will enable us to enhance the platform with an AI-powered civic assistant (MurBot), multilingual support in Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo, a simplified Electoral Act Toolkit, live election insights, and improved accessibility features to ensure more citizens can access trusted civic and electoral information.

We are building a more informed, inclusive, and participatory democracy by empowering citizens with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions.

Five local governments in Osun already know what a vote costs.

Not the price of a ballot paper. The price of a conscience.

Before a single vote is cast, before the queues form at 3,763 polling units, before the first BVAS blinks awake, observers have already logged cash and gift items moving through five LGAs.

That's the part nobody puts on a campaign poster.

But here's the other half of the story, and it's the half that matters.

They were seen.

Thirty of thirty local governments. Thirty-two long-term observers. Not one LGA left in the dark. INEC's preparation was watched in every single one. The materials, the machines, the movement, someone was counting.

That's the shift. Elections in Nigeria used to be something that happened to us. We heard the results and adjusted our lives around them.

Not this time.

2,339,233 registered voters. 14 parties. 28 names on the top tickets, and only 2 of them women. Every one of those numbers is a question somebody should be answering. Publicly.

This data was not compiled so it could sit in a PDF nobody opens. It was compiled so that when something goes wrong in your ward, you have the receipts before the excuses arrive.

So here's the ask, and it's small:

- If you see money changing hands, report it. Silence is a vote too.
- Verify your PVC now, not on election morning.
- Send this to one person in Osun who thinks their vote won't count.

Osun is being watched. Make sure you're one of the watchers.

Great news! The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise until Sunday, 26 July 2026.

This extension gives every eligible Nigerian another opportunity to register and be part of shaping the future of our democracy.

New Deadline: Sunday, 26 July 2026
NEW: First-time voters can access INEC's Self-Service Registration platform from Wednesday, 8 July 2026, making registration easier and more accessible.
