A beautiful Kingdom Hall stands as a place dedicated to the worship of Jehovah, the true God we serve.

During the day, it provides a peaceful setting for Bible education, congregation meetings, encouragement, and spiritual fellowship. At night, its warm lights symbolize the welcoming atmosphere of a people united in serving Jehovah.

The building is beautiful—but its real purpose is greater: to help people learn about Jehovah, strengthen their faith, and prepare to share the Bible’s message with others.

A MOMENT OF DECISION — PREPARING FOR BAPTISM

This historic photograph shows some of our brothers and sisters preparing to be baptized during the 1946 “Glad Nations” Theocratic Assembly in Cleveland, Ohio.

For these candidates, baptism represented a deeply personal step—the public expression of their dedication to Jehovah.

During this historic convention, 2,602 people were baptized in nearby Lake Erie, including 903 brothers and 1,699 sisters.

Imagine the emotions they must have felt as they prepared to enter the water. They were surrounded by thousands of fellow worshippers who had gathered to worship Jehovah and strengthen one another.

Their clothing and the surroundings may look different from baptism ceremonies today, but the significance of baptism remains the same: a sincere commitment to serve Jehovah and live according to his Word.

1942 — “NEW WORLD” THEOCRATIC ASSEMBLY

Did you know that 1942 marked an important point in the history of Jehovah’s Witnesses’ conventions?

The “New World” Theocratic Assembly was held during a challenging period in world history. Despite the difficulties of the time, Jehovah’s servants continued gathering together for spiritual instruction, encouragement, and united worship.

The theme “New World” directed attention to the Bible’s promise of a future new world under God’s Kingdom—a world where righteousness and peace will prevail.

What is especially encouraging is that conventions have continued to develop over the decades, but the purpose remains the same: to strengthen faith, promote unity, and help people draw closer to Jehovah.

From the conventions of the past to the Regional Conventions we attend today, generations of Jehovah’s servants have gathered together to learn, worship, and encourage one another.

DID YOU KNOW? HOW DID JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES DRESS FOR BAPTISM IN THE PAST?

This historical photo gives us a glimpse of how baptism candidates dressed during conventions and baptism events in an earlier era.

The candidates are respectfully walking toward the baptism pool. The men are shirtless and wearing simple swimming trunks, while the women are wearing modest one-piece swimsuits. Some candidates can be seen wearing white caps as they wait for their turn.

Nearby, baptism attendants in simple white shirts and trousers assist the candidates and guide them toward the baptism area. Spectators quietly watch as each person prepares to take this important step of dedication.

Styles and arrangements have changed over the years, but the meaning of baptism remains deeply significant: a public expression of a person's dedication to Jehovah.

The clothing may look different from what we see at conventions today, but the purpose was the same—these individuals were preparing to demonstrate their faith and commitment to Jehovah.

Convention history reminds us how much things can change over time while the importance of serving Jehovah remains the same.

🙏🌱WHEN DISASTER STRIKES, LOVE DOES NOT ASK WHO YOU ARE.

When earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, fires, or other disasters strike, Jehovah’s Witnesses are ready to help those affected. Through JW Aid, assistance is provided not only to fellow Witnesses but also to people in the wider community.

Food, clean water, clothing, shelter, medical supplies, and practical support may be provided to families who have lost their homes or belongings.

This reflects the Bible principle found at Galatians 6:10:

“Let us work what is good toward all, but especially toward those related to us in the faith.”

Jehovah’s Witnesses understand that true Christian love is shown through action. When people are suffering, they do not simply offer words of comfort—they also look for practical ways to help.

WHAT CAN WE LEARN?

Disasters can destroy buildings and possessions, but they can also reveal the compassion and unity that exist among people.

Helping others, regardless of their religion or background, shows kindness and genuine love for our neighbors.

When disaster strikes, Jehovah’s Witnesses do not stand by. Through JW Aid and the worldwide brotherhood, they strive to bring relief, comfort, and hope to those in need.
