Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a must if you are aiming for the top. It is a capital requirement for prominence and visibility. Gratitude enhances your ability to gain altitude. Give thanks in all situations. The reason for many people’s stagnation today is because of their attitude to gratitude. Set yourself to praise God or else you are cutting the cord that binds you to Him. The Psalmist said “I will enter His gates with thanksgiving” How else do you want to contact God without praise.
Malachi 2:1-2 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.
If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
There is a repercussion for being ungrateful. Thanksgiving is a commandment and a rule. Jer 13:16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he causes darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness. It is very grievous for you not to give thanks. Thanksgiving is a must.
Seven (7) reasons for Thanksgiving
(1) It is a God’s will – 1Thes 5:18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Give Thanks so that you can be in the will of God.
(2)It is the key to Restoration – John 11: 41-44 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
Lazarus died but life was returned to him through thanks.
(3) And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.
You can live a life that is above and beyond with thanks
(4)It is the key to wholeness and wellness – Faith heals but thanksgiving perfects your healing.
Luke 17:11-19 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said “Jesus ,Master, have mercy on us !” So when He saw them, He said “Go show yourselves to the priests”. And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed .And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks .And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? “Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him “Arise go your way. Your faith has made you well.
(6) It is the key to answered prayer – your request gets accelerated hearing when you add praise to it. Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
(6) It is the key to Victorious Living Thanks enhances your dominion . 1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
When the Israelites engaged in the murmuring and complaining ministry, they got stucked in the wilderness .
Any thanks that is not expressed is fake , it is not complete . Give thanks from your heart , with your lips, words ,hands and resources.
If you give God praise with your lips and refuse to give your resources, you are a hypocrite , if you give your resources but no thanks to God with your lips, then you are proud.
Psa 26:7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. .
Watch out against the sin of ingratitude – God is totally sold out to the thanks giver. Dedicate your life to give God Praise from today.
Isaiah 51:3 For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
