Dr. Olusegun Agagu was a Minister of Aviation under President Olusegun Obasanjo,
He was later Governor of Ondo State from 2003 to 2009.
On the 13th of september 2013,
He slumped & died at his Ikoyi, Lagos residence.
After his death,
The Jet conveying his co**se to Akure,
An Embraer 120 Brasilia Aircraft marked "5N-BJY" operated by Associated Airlines Ltd crashed.
It crashed into the Aviation fuel storage depot area belonging to Sahara Group,
Just few metres away from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport,
Busting into flames a few minutes after it touched ground,
The Aircraft was conveying the co**se,
13 passengers & 7 crew members.
A total of 13 people were burnt to death in the crash, others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
His son Feyi & one of his sons -In-law survived,
They walked out before the fire started.
Surprisingly the cargo compartment where his coffin was placed was safe from the fire,
His coffin was retrieved without scratch.
Before Dr. Agagu was born,
His parents lost a number of kids at birth & others after birth,
That made them name him "Kokumo".
His parents lost a total of 12 kids all together,
But he survived,
The number "13" was significant & kept reoccurring in Dr. Agagu's life.
His name "Olusegun Agagu" is made up of 13 letters,
He was the 13th child,
13th of september was the day he died,
13 people boarded the ill fated Aircraft with his co**se,
13 people died in the crash.
