One sunny morning, a little rabbit named Kiki was walking through the forest when she saw an old tortoise struggling to carry a heavy basket of fruits.

“Can I help you?” Kiki asked.

The tortoise smiled. “Yes, my child. Thank you.”

Kiki carried the basket all the way to the tortoise’s home. The tortoise blessed her and said, “One day, your kindness will return to you.”

A few days later, Kiki fell into a deep hole while chasing a butterfly. She cried for help.

Suddenly, the old tortoise heard her voice. He quickly gathered the other animals, and together they pulled Kiki out.

Kiki smiled with tears in her eyes. “Now I understand. A little kindness can come back to save you when you least expect it.”

The Farmer Whose Goodness Was Forgotten

Long ago, in a small African village, there lived a kind farmer named Okoro. He was known for helping everyone, even those who never thanked him.

One year, the village suffered a terrible drought. The crops died, the streams dried up, and many families had nothing to eat.

Okoro had stored some bags of maize for his own family, but when he saw his hungry neighbors, he opened his storehouse and shared his food with them.

“Take what you need,” he said. “No one should go to bed hungry.”

The villagers happily collected the maize. But instead of appreciating Okoro, some began to complain.

“Why did he give us only maize?” one man grumbled.

Another said, “He has plenty more hidden somewhere. He should give us everything!”

Okoro was hurt, but he remained silent.

Months later, the rains finally came. The village became green again, and Okoro’s farm produced the biggest harvest.

One evening, thieves entered the village and tried to steal the villagers’ crops. Okoro raised an alarm and helped chase them away.

The villagers were ashamed.

The oldest man in the village stood up and said, “We took Okoro’s kindness for granted. We complained about what he gave us instead of being grateful.”

Everyone apologized to Okoro.

Okoro smiled and said, “A good deed should come from the heart, not from the expectation of praise. But those who receive kindness should never forget to appreciate it.”

The Prayer of the Old Tortoise

Long ago, in a beautiful African forest, there lived a young tortoise named Tobi. Tobi was clever, but he was also proud. He believed that because he was intelligent, he did not need God’s guidance.

One dry season, the animals discovered that their only river had almost dried up. The animals became worried.

Tobi said, “No need to pray. I have a plan! I am the smartest animal here.”

He dug a small hole, hoping to find water, but after hours of digging, there was nothing.

An old tortoise named Baba Kola gathered the animals and said, “Let us pray and trust God, but let us also do our part.”

They prayed together and then worked as a team, clearing the bushes around an old spring.

Suddenly, water began flowing from beneath the ground!

The animals shouted with joy.
