One thing I love about "designing" is translating abstract ideas into visuals people can instantly connect with.
For this flyer, the client had one clear request: "I want it to communicate spring and fences."
Spring speaks of growth, renewal, and fresh beginnings, while fences represent boundaries, protection, and transitions. The challenge wasn't just creating something beautiful—it was bringing those ideas together visually.
I leaned into a soft green palette to capture the essence of spring and incorporated illustrated fences to echo the theme, Phases and Fences. From there, every design decision served clarity: hierarchy to establish focus, alignment and spacing to create balance, and a layout that naturally guides the viewer from the theme to the speaker and event details.
Because good design isn't just decoration. It's understanding the story beneath a client's vision and translating it into visuals that communicate, connect, and leave an impression.
Spring and fences. Growth and boundaries. Beauty and structure. Somehow, they made perfect sense together.
