Basic ICT Myth vs Fact

Myth: “My child knows how to use a phone, so they already know how to use a computer.”

Fact: Using a phone is different from understanding a computer.

Basic ICT teaches children the fundamentals of using a computer with confidence. They learn how to:

1. Identify the basic parts of a computer (hardware and software).
2. Use the keyboard and mouse correctly.
3. Create and organize files and folders.
4. Use Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
5. Build the digital skills they’ll use in school and beyond.

Just like learning to read starts with the alphabet, digital literacy starts with understanding the basics.

A strong foundation in Basic ICT gives children the confidence to learn more advanced technology in the future.

At Fhenix Africa Tech Camp, we don’t expect children to have any prior tech experience. We start with the basics, guide them step by step, and encourage them to learn by exploring, asking questions, and building projects.

Every child learns at their own pace, and our goal is to help them grow in confidence while discovering the exciting world of technology.
