We currently need a MoE foundation model for video generation, RunwayML uses a model called Intern Video model, which is a general video foundation model that uses both generative and discriminative self-supervised learning. Runway recently announced it will be creating a new model known as GWM (General world model). Pika_Labs uses a model called First Order Motion Model, which is a neural network that can animate a source image using a driving video.

Both models are very impressive and powerful, but they also have their own strengths and limitations. For example, RunwayML allows more control over the camera movement and zooming, while PikaLabs offers higher frame rate and animation features. Unfortunately, as of now there is no existing MoE foundation model for video generation. From my research, these are my suggestions on some possible directions that could help us to solve this.

1. We could try to extend the existing MoE foundation models for natural language processing, such as Switch Transformers1 or GShard2, to handle video data. This would require adapting the input and output formats, the attention mechanism, and the expert selection algorithm to suit the video domain.

2. We could also try to combine the existing video foundation models, such as InternVideo or First Order Motion Model, with a MoE architecture. This would require designing a suitable MoE layer that can leverage the benefits of both the video and the MoE models, such as high-quality video generation, efficient computation, and parallelization.

3. We could also try to explore new MoE architectures and objectives that are specifically tailored for video generation. This would require developing novel MoE components and methods that can capture the temporal and spatial dynamics, the multimodal interactions, and the diversity and creativity of video data.

Research of this magnitude will require the assistance of the Open-source community.
