Healthcare Data Analyst vs General Data Analyst — what’s the difference? 👀

If you’re learning data analytics and considering healthcare, you might be wondering:
“Do I need to learn completely different skills?”
Not necessarily.
Both roles rely on many of the same foundations—SQL, Excel, statistics, data cleaning, visualization, and problem-solving.

The biggest difference is the context in which you apply those skills.

A general data analyst might analyze sales, customers, revenue, or marketing performance.

A healthcare data analyst might analyze patient outcomes, readmissions, waiting times, hospital operations, claims, or other healthcare data.
