New ClearBridge AI Update: Multilingual Live Captioning

I’m pleased to share another accessibility-focused improvement to ClearBridge AI.

Live Captioning can now recognise speech across multiple languages, including English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Nigerian Pidgin, French, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese and more.

An important part of this update is support for code-mixed speech, the natural practice of switching or mixing languages within the same conversation.
This means users can speak more naturally rather than having to remain in a single language throughout a conversation.

ClearBridge AI can also preserve the detected language mix when producing a cleaned transcript.

For me, this is particularly important because accessibility technology should adapt to the way people actually communicate, not require people to adapt their communication to the technology.

The Future of Work: Digital Skills, AI & Opportunities for Youth with Disabilities

I had the privilege of speaking at the Centre for Disability and Inclusion Africa (CDIA) Monthly Disability Rights Webinar, where we explored how digital skills and Artificial Intelligence are shaping the future of work for young persons with disabilities.

I shared practical opportunities in remote work, freelancing, digital entrepreneurship, AI, website development, digital marketing, content creation and other emerging technology careers.

I also highlighted the barriers we must address, including inaccessible digital platforms, limited access to devices and the internet, lack of assistive technology, inadequate digital skills training, and design bias.

My key message was simple:

Persons with disabilities must not only be users and beneficiaries of technology. We must also be creators, innovators, professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders shaping the future of work.

The future of work is already here. Let’s make sure it is accessible, inclusive and open to everyone.
