Driving Namibia–U.S. Technology Collaboration 🇺🇸🤝🇳🇦

: Tuma Technologies’ Director and International Advisor to governments and International Organizations in conversation with the Chief of the Political, Economic, and Commercial Section at the U.S. Department of State , and the Head of the Department of Science, Computing and Mathematics at the University of Namibia (UNAM).

This followed a dynamic discussion on advancing Namibia and U.S. mutual interests in technology, where AI took center stage—and digital health, a passion deeply rooted in Tuma’s leadership, was also a key part of the conversation.

Successful DHIS2 Mobile Implementation & Capacity Building! 🇳🇦

Another milestone achieved! We have successfully implemented the DHIS2 Mobile, enabling data collection for in remote areas. This powerful tool allows to collect and report data in real-time, even without internet connectivity.

Nearly 30 CHW's have been trained to use the system effectively, strengthening local health response efforts.

DHIS2 Tracker Customization Training

We recently conducted a four-day intensive training on Tracker Customization for the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare ( ) in .

Our approach focuses on knowledge transfer, ensuring that teams gain the skills to manage and optimize their systems independently for long-term success.

A Giant has fallen

We’re deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Calle Hedberg. A founding member of HISP Centre at University of Oslo .Calle was instrumental in creating the original DHIS software, the foundation of today’s DHIS2 used globally. We were privileged to meet him in 2014 and will always remember his remarkable contributions.

Our heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time. His legacy will continue to inspire progress in health systems worldwide.

Following the launch of the , we held a productive three-day workshop to propose and select a platform for implementation in Namibia. We were honored to join as a trusted stakeholder among representatives from both local and international entities, including USAID - US Agency for International Development, CDC , The Palladium Group, The Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare Namibia, Ministry of Health and Social Services-Namibia, UNICEF and IntraHealth International.
