David: What sad news to see this morning. Hardly anyone who used the roads of Windhoek would not have seen Mr. van Wyk sitting at different intersections, providing a calming presence and a sense of familiarity - we might not know it yet but we're definitely going to miss seeing him.
Former journalist and now Leader of the Official Opposition in Parliament & IPC National Spokesperson Imms Nashinge perhaps summed his presence on the side of the rod up the best:
"His story was about His daughter that perished in a car accident if I remember well. He had his reasons, his rhythm, his relationship with this city that most of us never fully understood, but eventually, we stopped questioning it and simply accepted him as part of our city’s identity.
To his family and loved ones and Friends, may you find comfort in knowing that he touched more lives than he probably ever realised".
