One morning. A lot of ground covered.
We had the pleasure of welcoming students from Singapore Polytechnic to the Skribble office for an industry sharing session, and it was time well spent.
Our team walked them through what working in tech actually looks like day to day. From the jargon you pick up fast, to the slower art of understanding a business problem and turning it into something digital that actually works.
We shared a few hard-won perspectives along the way: that engineering standards matter, that quality code isn't optional, and that AI is a brilliant tool but not the answer to everything.
We also got into career pathways, what employers are genuinely looking for, and what it's really like working with real-world clients. The unfiltered stuff.
What made this session stand out was a reminder that everyone's path into the industry looks a little different. Hearing how some of our guests have to factor National Service into their academic planning was a genuine eye-opener. Same destination, very different roads to get there. It's the kind of perspective you can't get from a textbook, and it's exactly why sessions like these matter.
Thank you to the students and faculty from Singapore Polytechnic for spending the morning with us. We hope you walked away with something that sticks. We can't wait to see what you build. Here's to building the future together, one Skribble at a time! đ
