KOTA KINABALU, 23 July 2026 - SEDCO Communications Sdn Bhd (S.Comm) paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, at the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (DUN) yesterday to present the company’s development roadmap and provide updates on the state’s strategic projects.

The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO), Datuk Masiung Banah, who also presented the master plan outlining the proposed framework for the Kudat Blue Economy Industrial Park (KBEIP).

During the presentation, S.Comm shared its plans to expand its involvement in the telecommunications sector and revealed that it is establishing strategic partnerships with international companies to explore the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technologies in Sabah.

Meanwhile, SEDCO, as the lead agency driving the KBEIP initiative, informed the Chief Minister that it is currently preparing preliminary guidelines for land development and site surveying works in anticipation of the project’s implementation during the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) period.

The KBEIP is envisioned as a blue economy industrial hub integrating maritime development, green technology, and high-impact industries, in line with efforts to strengthen Sabah’s economic development.

Also present during the courtesy call were the Permanent Secretary of the Sabah Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, Datuk Thomas Logijin; SEDCO General Manager, Datuk Ar. Jemas Wong Kein Peng; and S.Comm Chief Executive Officer, Subha Maraiah.

S.Comm bentang pelan telekomunikasi dan AI kepada Ketua Menteri, sokong pembangunan KBEIP

KOTA KINABALU, 23 Julai 2026 - SEDCO Communications Sdn Bhd (S.Comm) mengadakan kunjungan hormat kepada Ketua Menteri Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, di Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Sabah semalam bagi membentangkan pelan pembangunan syarikat serta perkembangan projek strategik negeri.

Kunjungan itu diketuai oleh Pengerusi Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO), Datuk Masiung Banah, yang turut membentangkan pelan induk berhubung kerangka cadangan Kudat Blue Economy Industrial Park (KBEIP).

Dalam sesi pembentangan tersebut, S.Comm memaklumkan perancangannya untuk mengembangkan penglibatan dalam sektor telekomunikasi, selain sedang menjalinkan kerjasama strategik dengan syarikat luar negara bagi meneroka pembangunan teknologi berasaskan kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence, AI) di Sabah.

Sementara itu, SEDCO selaku peneraju utama pembangunan KBEIP memaklumkan bahawa pihaknya sedang merangka garis panduan awal bagi melaksanakan kerja-kerja tanah dan pengukuran tapak sebagai persediaan pelaksanaan projek dalam tempoh Rancangan Malaysia Ke-13 (RMK-13).

Projek KBEIP dirancang sebagai hab industri berteraskan ekonomi biru yang menggabungkan pembangunan maritim, teknologi hijau dan industri berimpak tinggi, sejajar dengan usaha memperkukuh pembangunan ekonomi Sabah.

Turut hadir dalam kunjungan tersebut ialah Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Perindustrian dan Keusahawanan Sabah, Datuk Thomas Logijin; Pengurus Besar SEDCO, Datuk Ar. Jemas Wong Kein Peng; serta Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif S.Comm, Subha Maraiah.

S.Comm and SM Media forge strategic partnership in media and publicity management

KOTA KINABALU: SEDCO Communications Sdn. Bhd. (S.Comm) and Sri Melati Media Sdn. Bhd. (SM Media) today formalised a strategic collaboration through the signing of a bilateral agreement on media and publicity management.

The agreement was signed by SEDCO Communications Sdn. Bhd. Executive Director, Mr. Subha Maraiah, and Sri Melati Media Sdn. Bhd. Managing Director, Haji M. Ridzal.

The partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening strategic communications, media relations, publicity management, and creative content development for future initiatives.

SEDCO Communications Sdn. Bhd. (S.Comm), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO), was officially launched by its Board of Directors in 2009. The company entered the technology and telecommunications sector with a focus on developing fibre optic network infrastructure and telecommunication towers through strategic partnerships with industry collaborators and contractors.
