Our director Jochen Kirstätter spoke recently at the Azure Accelerator Conference by Liquid Telecom and shared the experience we gained completing successful "Lift & Shift" transfers from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.

We successfully completed the Lift & Shift for a customer. All data and services (.NET) have been migrated to Azure.

Cost saving per month: approx. 57%

Est. figures:
- 18 web sites incl. API, STS, payment gateway, etc
- 12 console applications
- 3 SQL databases with total over 150 million records (> 75 GB)
- over 7 million files (documents, images, etc > 120 GB)

Kicking off a full-fledged migration to Microsoft Azure. Several servers, web applications, databases, scheduled jobs, and so on are looking for a new placement.
