๐ข Recruitment Announcement: Enumerators for Baseline Survey
Polygon Research & Training Consultancy (PRTC) is pleased to announce the recruitment of Enumerators to support the implementation of the Baseline Survey for the project โAddressing Deforestation in Smallholder Agricultural Commodity Supply Chains in Liberiaโ, jointly implemented by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and VOSIEDA.
This survey will be conducted in Lofa and Nimba Counties, focusing on cocoa and rice value chains. It will generate essential benchmark data to inform project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Position: Enumerator (Short-Term Contract)
Location: Lofa and Nimba Counties, Liberia
Duration: Approximately 10โ15 days (including training, piloting, and fieldwork)
Start Date: February 2026 (tentative)
Key Responsibilities
โข Conduct household surveys using digital tools (ODK/Kobo Collect/SurveyCTO) in targeted communities.
โข Facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with farmers, womenโs groups, youth, and PWDs.
โข Assist in Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with local stakeholders.
โข Carry out direct observations of farming practices, land use, and forest conditions.
โข Ensure accurate, complete, and timely data collection following ethical protocols.
โข Work closely with supervisors, translators, and local guides to reach remote communities.
โข Participate in daily debriefs and provide feedback on challenges encountered in the field.
Required Qualifications & Criteria
โข Education: Minimum of a high school diploma; preference for candidates with post-secondary education in social sciences, agriculture, forestry, or related fields.
โข Experience: Prior experience in data collection, surveys, or community engagement is highly desirable.
โข Technical Skills: Ability to use smartphones/tablets for digital data collection (ODK/Kobo/SurveyCTO).
โข Language: Fluency in English and at least one local language spoken in Lofa or Nimba (e.g., Kissi, Mano, Gio, Lorma).
โข Gender Balance: Women are strongly encouraged to apply; at least 50% of enumerators will be female.
โข Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and ability to engage respectfully with diverse community members.
โข Availability: Willingness to travel to remote areas, work flexible hours, and commit to the full duration of the assignment.
โข Ethics: Commitment to confidentiality, neutrality, and adherence to Welthungerhilfeโs Protection Policy and Code of Conduct.
Training & Support
Selected enumerators will undergo a two-day training workshop covering:
โข Ethical research protocols and informed consent procedures.
โข Use of digital data collection tools.
โข Gender-sensitive interviewing techniques.
โข Logistics and fieldwork procedures.
