LERC Renews JEP’s Large Micro Utility Distribution License for Nimba County

Ganta City, Nimba County – September 23, 2026: Jungle Energy Power Inc. (JEP) is pleased to announce the renewal of its Large Micro Utility Distribution License by the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC), authorizing JEP to continue providing electricity distribution services across Nimba County.

The renewal was formalized on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, during a license renewal ceremony that brought together government officials, local authorities, community representatives, civil society organizations, development stakeholders, and representatives of the energy sector.

The ceremony was attended by members of the LERC Board of Commissioners, officials of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), and other key stakeholders.

Presenting the renewed license, Hon. Amara M. Kamara, Acting Chairman of the LERC Board of Commissioners, challenged JEP’s management to further strengthen and enhance its investments in electricity infrastructure, system maintenance, customer service, safety, metering, and overall system reliability.

The Commissioner called on government to provide budgetary support to JEP for the improvement of services and expansion to more communities.

In response, the Management of Jungle Energy Power through its General Manager Aleyou Keita, welcomed the Commission’s guidance and reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving electricity services for the people of Nimba County.

JEP said the renewed license represents not only regulatory approval to continue its operations, but also a renewed commitment to meeting the expectations of its customers and stakeholders through improved service delivery, expanded infrastructure, enhanced safety standards, reliable metering, and continued investment in the Nimba electricity distribution network.

The company further expressed appreciation to LERC, the Government of Liberia, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, LEC, local authorities, community leaders, customers, and other stakeholders for their continued support and engagement throughout the licensing process.

JEP Management assured its customers and the general public that the company will continue working closely with the relevant authorities and stakeholders to address challenges within the electricity sector and contribute to the expansion and improvement of reliable and affordable electricity services across Nimba County.

LERC Conducts Public Hearing on JEP’s Application for License Renewal in Nimba County

Ganta City, Nimba County — September 9, 2026: The Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC) on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, conducted a public hearing on Jungle Energy Power Inc. (JEP)’s application for the renewal of its Large Micro Utility Distribution License for Nimba County.

The public hearing was chaired by Hon. Amara M. Kamara, alongside Commissioner Cllr. Ela-Edward Toomey II and Managing Director Augustus V. Goanue.

The hearing brought together a broad range of stakeholders, including Hon. Charles Umehai, Deputy Minister for Energy at the Ministry of Mines and Energy; Hon. Eric Augustine Fredericks, Deputy Managing Director for Administration; local government officials; student groups; civil society organizations; and members of the public.

Representing Jungle Energy Power, the company’s General Manager, Mr. Aleyou Keita, presented JEP’s license renewal application and provided an overview of the company’s current operations, achievements, and planned activities in Nimba County.

The public hearing served as an important platform for residents, customers, and other stakeholders to gain a better understanding of JEP’s operations and future plans, while providing an opportunity for direct engagement with the company’s management.

During the hearing, participants raised questions and expressed concerns relating to JEP’s operations, service delivery, customer satisfaction, reliability of electricity supply, and the need for continued improvements in electricity services across Nimba County.

JEP welcomes the concerns, recommendations, and observations raised by participants and considers stakeholder engagement an essential part of improving its services and strengthening its relationship with the communities it serves.
