Shard Investigation - February 2026

Last Sunday (February 8 ) The Resistance Sri Lanka had an amazing time at Galle playing the NL Shard Investigation Event.

This was a stand-alone event independent of the ongoing +Gamma Season that took place in 9 locations around the Globe to test a new game mechanic and an operational metric; โ€œContainment Integrityโ€. Galle, an important site both in Sri Lankan history as well as in Ingress with multiple onsite events in the past, was selected as one of these 9 locations.

A group of highly dedicated and motivated Resistance agents gathered at Galle to play in this event despite the fact no medals or points were awarded for taking part. Driven by pure passion for the game and the Resistance community, it was another opportunity to explore the World through our scanners, gain experience on gameplay mechanics, and to have fun!

The gameplay was all about controlling 3 virtual NL-1331 portals, capturing 6 waves of 10 shards each and containing them. Our agents were ready at strategic locations in the Galle Fort where the 3 virtual NL-1331 portals were located by 2.00 pm and ready for the battle, but the Team Enlightened Sri Lanka simply didnโ€™t show up. After a 96 minute gameplay the Team Resistance Sri Lanka collected a massive 685 Containment Integrity Points, the highest amount in any of the 9 sites across the Globe, against 9 Free points that went to the Enlightened as a result of automatic flipping of Very Rare Battle Beacons deployed at the NL-1331 portals during a few checkpoints. Despite not having any opposition, our agents still enjoyed the gameplay and even had a little fun by sending one of the Shards to Addu Atoll of Maldives!

We thank all Resistance Sri Lanka agents who gathered for the event showcasing the Unity in the community and the Spirit of the Game in their hearts. As always, it was another fun filled evening with Ingress, the game we all love.

We hope the Enlightened Sri Lanka would develop a similar passion for the game which is not only driven by shiny medals and points in their scanners.
