🚨 7 known-exploited vulnerabilities security teams should review now

CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog includes seven issues across SonicWall SMA 1000, JFrog Artifactory, Sangoma Switchvox, Kestra, Starlette and LiteLLM.

They range from authentication bypass and command injection to SQL injection, workflow abuse and MCP authorization weaknesses—but their prerequisites and consequences are not identical.

Two of the seven, CVE-2026-83548 and CVE-2026-83549, are validated zero-days in this intelligence package. The others should not be described as zero-days simply because they appear in KEV.

The priority for defenders is straightforward: identify exposure, apply the correct vendor remediation, and investigate where exploitation may have affected an exposed system.

Swipe through for the affected products, remediation floors and important technical qualifications.

🚨 CYBER ALERT — PaperCut NG / MF

Two actively exploited vulnerabilities affecting PaperCut NG and PaperCut MF are linked in a documented pre-authentication attack chain:

CVE-2026-81578 → CVE-2026-82078 → Remote Code Ex*****on

🔴 CVE-2026-81578 — authentication bypass / configuration manipulation
🔴 CVE-2026-82078 — unsafe dynamic class loading in PaperCut database-connection functionality

Both CVEs are listed in the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) Catalog.

⚠️ Important qualification: exploitation of CVE-2026-82078 has been established as part of the linked attack chain. Independent standalone exploitation of CVE-2026-82078 has not been established.

Validated reporting also shows follow-on activity involving unauthorized database access and data theft after abuse of the PaperCut compromise path.

🛡️ What should organizations do?

✅ Deploy PaperCut Emergency Patch Release 3 as soon as possible
✅ Upgrade earlier major versions where required
✅ Prioritize internet-facing PaperCut Application Servers
✅ Restrict management access to trusted networks, VPNs or controlled administrative paths
✅ Review PaperCut and Derby logs plus endpoint/network telemetry
✅ Investigate unexpected configuration changes, database queries, process ex*****on and remote-access tooling
✅ Follow incident-response procedures if compromise is suspected

Emergency Patch Release 3 is the current remediation baseline and supersedes Releases 1 and 2.

The absence of currently known indicators does not prove that a system was not compromised.

Your firewall protects part of your environment.
But your digital exposure extends much further.

Leaked credentials. Exposed services. Vulnerable applications. Cloud risks. Third parties. Brand impersonation. Malicious infrastructure.

These signals can exist outside the systems you monitor every day.

🚨 Actively Exploited Gitea Vulnerability — CVE-2026-60004

A critical code-injection vulnerability affecting Gitea has been added to CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) Catalog.

CVE-2026-60004 affects Gitea versions 1.17 through versions before 1.27.1. An attacker with repository write access can abuse Gitea’s diffpatch functionality to install an executable Git hook and run arbitrary shell commands as the Gitea service account.

[Certain] With open registration enabled, an attacker may be able to register a normal account, create a repository, and obtain the write access needed for exploitation. Successful compromise may expose repositories, application secrets, database credentials, integrations, and other resources accessible to the Gitea service account.

⚠️ Active exploitation has been confirmed. CISA added CVE-2026-60004 to KEV on August 25, 2026.

Recommended actions:

• Upgrade to Gitea 1.27.1 or later
• Review whether open registration is necessary
• Restrict repository creation and write permissions
• Review logs for unusual diffpatch activity or unexpected Git hooks
• Investigate previously exposed systems for signs of compromise
• Rotate secrets and credentials if compromise is suspected
• Maintain tested backups and incident-response readiness

🚨 Actively Exploited Citrix NetScaler Vulnerability

CVE-2026-8452 affects Citrix NetScaler ADC and NetScaler Gateway and is now being actively exploited in the wild.

This is a memory overflow vulnerability that can lead to unpredictable behavior or denial of service when the appliance is configured as:

• Gateway (SSL VPN, ICA Proxy, CVPN, or RDP Proxy)
• AAA virtual server

Severity:
• NetScaler CVSS v4.0: 8.8 High
• NVD CVSS v3.1: 9.8 Critical

What should be done:
• Upgrade affected appliances immediately
• Review exposed Gateway and AAA services
• Restrict unnecessary access
• Monitor for instability, crashes, and suspicious activity
• Apply the corresponding fixed builds for standard, FIPS, or NDcPP deployments where applicable

Need help assessing your NetScaler exposure or planning remediation?

From recovery to readiness. 🔹

We’re proud to support UTA International S.A.L. as their technology and cybersecurity partner.

Our journey with UTA began when an Active Directory access issue disrupted server authentication and business operations. Cloudsware recovered administrative access, restored directory control, and helped bring operations back to stability.

Since then, the relationship has evolved from recovery to long-term infrastructure improvement:

⚙️ Restoring critical Active Directory access and operations
🛡️ Moving the firewall from a server-hosted virtual environment to a dedicated physical appliance with dedicated Internet connectivity
🔍 Currently reviewing the Active Directory environment and performing CIS-aligned risk mapping to identify priorities and strengthen UTA’s security posture

Technology improvement isn’t a one-time project. It’s a continuous process of reducing risk, strengthening resilience, and preparing the business for what comes next.

Thank you UTA International S.A.L. for your continued trust.

🚨 Actively Exploited Oracle Vulnerability — CVE-2026-21962

A critical CVSS 10.0 vulnerability affecting Oracle HTTP Server and the Oracle WebLogic Server Proxy Plug-in has been added to CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

CVE-2026-21962 is an Improper Access Control vulnerability that can be exploited remotely over HTTP without authentication, privileges, or user interaction.

Affected versions include:
• 12.2.1.4.0
• 14.1.1.0.0
• 14.1.2.0.0

Organizations running affected Oracle environments should:
• Apply Oracle security updates immediately
• Identify internet-facing Oracle HTTP Server and WebLogic Proxy Plug-in systems
• Restrict unnecessary external access
• Review HTTP and server logs for suspicious activity
• Investigate previously exposed systems for signs of compromise
• Maintain tested backups and incident-response readiness

🚨 Actively Exploited GitLab Vulnerability

CVE-2026-19478 is a critical vulnerability affecting GitLab CE and EE and has been added to CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

The flaw can allow an unauthenticated attacker to bypass SAML authentication protections, potentially impersonating users — including privileged accounts — and gaining access to sensitive projects, source code, runners and CI/CD pipelines.

For organizations relying on GitLab, compromise can extend beyond a single account and potentially affect the wider software development lifecycle and supply chain.

Recommended action:

• Upgrade immediately to a patched GitLab release
• Review administrative and privileged accounts
• Investigate unusual SAML authentication activity
• Monitor login, API and CI/CD activity
• Restrict unnecessary exposure of GitLab services
• Maintain tested backups and incident-response readiness

🛡️ Need help assessing your GitLab exposure, reviewing suspicious activity, or strengthening your DevSecOps environment?
