How Minimal Can an MVP Really Be?

Ever wondered how stripped-down your Minimum Viable Product can actually be while remaining... well, viable? 🤔

After two decades in product management, I’ve seen countless startups confuse “minimum viable” with “minimum lovable” or worse - launching with bloated feature sets they call MVPs.

Here’s my take: An MVP should be as minimal as possible while still doing two critical things:
1. Solving your customer’s core problem with an acceptable experience
2. Testing your riskiest assumption

The key is context. 🔑 For startups where user experience is the value proposition, your MVP needs more polishing.
But for startups where the solution is what matters (not how pretty it looks), you can strip it down to bare essentials as long as early adopters can use it to solve their problem.

Remember: MVP isn’t about impressing everyone - it’s about learning quickly with the smallest investment possible and serving innovators and early adopters.
