Here's a list of essential computer components and their functions.
Internal Components:
-Central Processing Unit (CPU): Often referred to as the "brain" of the computer, the CPU is responsible for processing instructions and data. It fetches, decodes, and executes instructions from various programs.
-Motherboard: The motherboard acts as the central hub, connecting all other components within the computer. It provides the electrical connections and communication pathways that allow all the parts to work together.
-Random Access Memory (RAM): RAM provides temporary storage for data that the CPU is actively using. Think of it as the CPU's scratchpad where it keeps frequently accessed information readily available for quick processing.
-Storage Devices: These components store data permanently. Common storage devices include: Solid State Drive (SSD): Offers faster data access speeds but typically has less storage capacity. SSDs use flash memory chips to store data, similar to how USB flash drives work.
-Hard Disk Drive (HDD): Provides larger storage capacity but has slower data access speeds compared to SSDs. HDDs use a spinning disk and magnetic head to read and write data.
-Power Supply Unit (PSU): Converts AC power from the wall outlet to DC power usable by the computer's components. The PSU provides the different voltage levels required by various parts of the computer.
-Cooling System: Keeps the computer's components from overheating, typically consisting of fans and heat sinks. Heat sinks absorb heat from the CPU and other components, and fans dissipate the heat away from the computer.
External Components:
-Monitor: Displays the visual output from the computer. This is where you see the windows, icons, menus, videos, and other visual elements generated by the computer.
-Input Devices: These components allow users to interact with the computer, such as: -Keyboard: Used for typing text and entering commands. Keyboards typically have standard layouts with alphanumeric keys, function keys, and special keys like Ctrl,
