What does it feel like to win a national championship and know you're going to represent your country on the world stage?

This is the moment everything changed.

MAKO-Coders entered the MRC Kenya national qualifier as one team among many. They left as overall champions — winning the Business Innovation division and first place overall.

The certificate and letter below are the official record. What comes next is the world stage.

OFFICIAL INVITATION TO REPRESENT KENYA AT THE MRC GLOBAL OLYMPIAD 2027 — CHANIA, CRETE, GREECE
Following the success of the 1st National Minoan RobotSports Competition(MRC) – Kenya 2026, which brought together 50 competitors from Nairobi and Kajiado counties, we are proud to officially invite MAKO AI to represent Kenya at the 6th Edition MRC Global Olympiad, taking place 23–26 April 2027 in Chania, Crete, Greece.
This invitation follows MAKO AI outstanding performance in the national edition 1st place finish in the Exhibition category with their project 'SmartFire Detection, Early Warning & School Safety'"— earning a place among Kenya's delegation to compete on the global stage alongside teams from dozens of countries, under the theme of Sports Robotics: Create – Code –Run.

We are proud to have you representing Kenya on the international stage, and look forward to working closely with your team as we prepare for Chania.

MAKO-Coders are national champions. Now school is back in session and we have lost the computer room where they trained. We can only meet there during holidays.

We need to rent a space in the Umoja area of Nairobi for weekly coding clubs — If you have a space or know someone who does, message us.
