Ethiopia went from 15 million to 90 million mobile money accounts in just over a year.

That's not a trend. That's a sprint.

And Kenya? 91% of SMEs here have already adopted digital payments. 97% plan to make them seamless in the near future.

Africa isn't catching up to the global fintech story, it's rewriting it.

But behind the big numbers, there's a more interesting question: what does this actually mean for businesses trying to operate, compete, and grow on this continent right now?

We explored exactly that. From how credit barriers are cracking, to how mobile infrastructure is maturing into something much bigger. It's all in our latest piece.

If your business touches finance in any way, this is the context you need.

You don’t always need to hire. Sometimes you need a team that just… works.

Large-scale tech projects in Kenya, Nigeria, and across Africa are hitting the same wall:
Amazing product vision. No way to hire fast enough.

The old way was:
Post a job, Wait for weeks, Compete for senior talent, Pay payroll overhead, and then Pray they don’t leave after 18 months.

The new way:
Team as a Service (TaaS) – a dedicated squad of developers, QA, and project managers that integrates into your Slack, Jira, and GitHub. You own the IP. The provider handles everything else.

This isn’t outsourcing. It’s an extension of your team.

We wrote a practical guide for CTOs, founders, and project leads, including exactly when to choose TaaS vs. in-house.

If your product roadmap can’t afford another delay, this is
worth a read before your next hiring decision. 👇

🌍 What if farmers, health workers, researchers, and policymakers across Africa could build powerful machine learning models without writing a single line of code?

At Afriq Silicon, we helped make that possible.
We’re proud to have partnered with the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) to build ACTS ML, a no-code machine learning platform designed to make AI and data science accessible to more people across Africa.
The goal was simple:
Remove technical barriers and empower users to turn data into meaningful insights, regardless of their coding experience.

Whether it’s analyzing crop data, studying disease patterns, supporting research, or informing policy decisions, ACTS ML gives users powerful tools through a simple and intuitive experience.
This project reflects what we believe at Afriq Silicon.Technology should be accessible, practical, and built for real African challenges.

It also showcases our ability to design and deliver advanced digital platforms for NGOs, research institutions, governments, universities, and organizations looking to harness AI and data-driven innovation.

🚀 At Afriq Silicon, we build intelligent software that helps businesses across Africa connect with customers more effectively.

We’re proud to showcase one of our recent projects — Engineering Kilele Hub’s Behavioural Messaging Engine.

In industries like lending, insurance, and retail, generic SMS campaigns often fail to capture attention. Engagement drops, customer response declines, and valuable opportunities are missed.

Kilele Hub wanted to change that by creating a smarter engagement platform powered by behavioural insights and personalized messaging.

Our team at Afriq Silicon partnered with them to bring that vision to life.
We engineered a secure, scalable platform designed to deliver the right message to the right customer at the right time, helping organizations improve engagement, strengthen customer relationships, and drive better business outcomes.

The result was a powerful system that feels simple to use, allowing teams to launch and manage campaigns with confidence.
This project reflects what we do best at Afriq Silicon, transforming complex business challenges into secure, user-friendly digital solutions with real impact.
