Don't pay more than you need to for a phone

Along with battery life, the camera has become the most important smartphone feature. Pay attention to specs such as aperture (lower numbers are better) and special features such as dual lenses and optical image stabilization.

Get the right size screen. Buy a phone with a screen smaller than 5.5 inches if one-hand use is important to you or if you have smaller hands. Get a bigger-screen phone if you like to watch a lot of videos, play games or want to take advantage of the multi window mode in Android. Still, phone-makers are now making big-screen phones, such as the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8, that fit comfortably in one hand thanks to larger 18:9 aspect ratios.

-Always use a clean toothbrush to clean parts of your laptop: Cleaning around the keys on the keyboard, exhaust fans and around the bezel of the screen will help promote airflow and reduce heat buildup inside the laptop.

-Hold your laptop by the base: Lifting and holding the laptop by the display creates unneeded pressure on the hinges. This action may direct pressure to the LCD and deform or crack the screen itself.

-Do not expose your laptop to rapid temperature changes: Large temperature fluctuations can cause major damage to your laptop. The metal platters inside the hard disk can expand and contract rapidly. If the metal platters are being accessed at the time, they may even crack causing partial, if not total, data loss. The temperature change can also form condensation within the laptop and short internal components.

-Power Conservation: If not using your laptop for more than two hours, shut it down. The power consumption of the laptop within those two hours is far greater than that required to power on the laptop.

Charged: Ensure your battery is fully charged, and then completely run it down before recharging. Recharging too early causes your battery to run out of power more quickly.


Secure: For security reasons, enable the PIN on your SIM Card and Phone-lock on your phone to avoid unauthorised used. These security checks will also be activated when the phone is power cycled. You can check with your carrier or the phone manual for the features and also for information on blocking your SIM card and phone IMEI number if the phone is stolen.

Protected: Make sure you use a keypad lock to lock your phone. Unplanned calls can cost a fortune and even though your phone may be in a safe place, such as in a bag, your phone will still get knocked around to a surprising degree. Rough treatment can damage electronic circuit boards so avoid dropping or unnecessarily shaking your phone.


Battery: Be safe with your batteries. Use only genuine batteries from your phone manufacturer and only buy from authorised dealers. Going for the cheap option of a counterfeit battery can be dangerous.

Cleaning your computer, components, and peripherals help keep everything in good working condition, helps prevent germs from spreading, and helps allow proper air flow. The first picture shows a good example of just how dirty the inside of your computer case can get. Just looking at this picture it is immediately obvious that all the dust and dirt is going to prevent proper air flow and may even prevent the fan from working.

Never spray or sq**rt any liquid onto any computer component. If a spray is needed, spray the liquid onto a cloth.
You can use a vacuum to suck up dirt, dust, or hair around the computer. However, do not use a vacuum inside your computer as it generates static electricity that can damage your computer. If you need to use a vacuum inside your computer, use a portable battery powered vacuum or try compressed air.
When cleaning a component or the computer, turn it off before cleaning.
Be cautious when using any cleaning solvents; some people have allergic reactions to chemicals in cleaning solvents, and some solvents can even damage the case. Try always to use water or a highly diluted solvent.
When cleaning, be careful to not accidentally adjust any k***s or controls. Also, when cleaning the back of the computer, if anything is connected make sure not to disconnect the plugs.
When cleaning fans, especially smaller fans, hold the fan or place something in-between the fan blades to prevent it from spinning. Spraying compressed air into a fan or cleaning a fan with a vacuum may cause damage or generate a back voltage.
Never eat or drink around the computer.
Limit smoking around the computer.
