Now here is the part that concerns me.

A law is only as good as the people who know it exists. Ninajua kuna farmers wa Kericho, Kipkelion, Nandi, Murang'a, Kirinyaga who have no idea this law was signed. Their cooperative chairman knows. The middlemen know. But the farmer? Hajui. Na wakijua hawajui rights zao.

If you have a coffee farmer in your family — your dad, shosho, uncle, neighbour —EDUCATE THEM. Waelezee kuhusu hizi rights. Waelezee that they can now demand payment within 14 days. That deductions beyond 10% are illegal. That they have 30 days to get justice.

Because at the end of the day, the law is there. But if the farmer doesn't know it, bado ataliwa tu.

Kenya coffee is fetching record prices globally right now. 2025 ilikuwa mwaka mzuri sana for Kenyan Coffee sales. The timing of this law could not be better.

Mungu awalinde wakulima wa Kenya. These people wake up at 6 AM, work in the rain, and enrich this country with DOLLARS. The least we can do is make sure they are not cheated out of their hard-earned money.

Now, the Coffee Act 2023 has been signed into law. And I want to break it down for you the way nobody else will.

First — PAYMENT WITHIN 14 DAYS. By law, your coffee money must reach you within 14 days of the sale. Not six months. Not "tunasubiri clearance." FOURTEEN DAYS. If your cooperative delays beyond that, wamekiuka sheria. Report them.

Second — DEDUCTIONS CAPPED AT 10%. Cooperatives used to deduct 30%, 40%, sometimes more. Nobody questioned them. Now the law says maximum 10% ndio wanaweza kata. Anything above that ni wizi wa kisheria. You can now challenge it.

Third — there is now a PRICE STABILIZATION FUND. When global coffee prices crash — k**a ilivyotokea 2019 — farmers used to suffer alone. Now there is a government cushion. Prices zikianguka, bado utapata decent money. This is huge.

Fourth — DISPUTES RESOLVED IN 30 DAYS. There are farmers who have been fighting cooperatives in court for 10 years over their money. TEN YEARS. The new law creates Dispute Resolution Committees that MUST settle your case within 30 days. Not years. 30 days.

Fifth — a standalone COFFEE BOARD OF KENYA has been created. Coffee now has its own regulator. Not sharing an office with tea, pyrethrum, and miraa. Coffee peke yake. This means more focus, more accountability, and a regulator you can actually call when things go wrong.

I don't usually talk about agriculture online because people think farming is for uneducated people. But today I have to say something about the Coffee Act 2023 because this one touches real money.

Kenya grows some of the best coffee in the world. FACT. Kenyan Arabica fetches up to KSH 800 PER KILO at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange. Coffee farmers in Kipkelion, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Kiambu, Nandi — these people sit on liquid gold every single season.

But do you know what has been happening?

A farmer harvests coffee worth Ksh 200,000. By the time the cooperative deducts this, deducts that, delays payment for six months, the farmer gets FORTY THOUSAND BOB. From 200K. Watu wanaliwa kavu kavu.

I have met even GRADUATE COFFEE FARMERS who don't even know how much their coffee sold for at the auction. Hawajaambiwa. They just wait for whatever their cooperative bosses decides to give them.

That is not farming. THAT IS SLAVERY MAMBOLEO. Get FACTS from Nairobi Coffee Exchange and DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY!

President Ruto has signed the most sweeping coffee reform in decades. The Coffee Act 2023 is now law.

After years of waiting, Kenyan coffee farmers have something real to celebrate. The Coffee Act 2023 has officially been signed into law — and it is the biggest shake-up of the sector since independence.

The timing could not be better. Kenyan Arabica is fetching record prices on global markets right now. This law ensures more of that money finally stays in farmers' hands. The next step is making sure farmers are represented as the regulations are developed. Stay engaged, attend cooperative meetings, and know your rights.

Here is what changes for you as a farmer:

A lot of people never build real wealth… not because they don’t have the chance, but because they overlook the basics.

Think about this for a second:

Trying to *look* rich is one of the fastest ways to stay broke. Real wealth isn’t loud — it’s built quietly over time.

Start focusing on things that actually put money in your pocket. If it’s not doing that, it’s probably taking money out of it.

Also, your daily habits matter way more than your paycheck. You can earn a lot and still struggle, or earn little and steadily grow — it all comes down to how you manage it.

Another big one: learn how money actually works. The more you understand it, the easier it is to spot opportunities most people miss.

And honestly, patience is everything. Building wealth isn’t exciting most of the time… it’s slow, consistent, sometimes even boring — but that’s exactly why it works.

At the end of the day, it’s not about where you’re starting from. It’s about the choices you make from here on out.

If you stay consistent, things do change.

If this resonates with you, pass it on — someone else might need to hear it too.
