In photography, I care about more than just "what to shoot" — I look for moments that can only be seen in that specific place.
Even the same location can look completely different depending on the time, tide, or light, so I believe staying a while and observing is key to a memorable photograph.
When people think of Miyajima, the Great Torii Gate usually comes to mind.
But when the deer, the sea, the mountains, and Itsukushima Shrine all come together with it, the whole landscape feels captured in a single frame.
A deer happened to be walking through the water, its reflection shimmering on the surface, so I waited for the moment when both the torii and the deer would align.
The instant I took the shot, it felt as if the deer were quietly walking through the landscape of Miyajima itself — a photo that could only have been taken here.
When I travel, I love photos that bring together a place's iconic symbol with a small, unexpected moment — not just the scenery I planned to shoot, but something I could only encounter there.
That's one of the things I always keep in mind when photographing on a trip.
