Sorcerian for the sega mega drive. One that stood out for its out standing artwork. Easily recognizable by the phantasy star 2 artist Hitoshi Yoneda. The game itself is challenging in Japanese and so I can tell little about it. This is a collectors only title and like many interesting games the design itself makes it worthy of a collection.

For some phantasy star 2 is one of the greatest games of all time. But one of the unsolved mysteries was the US cover. It summed up the sci-fi world and ‘mother brain’ in the background. However as the art was unsigned it’s not known on pretty much any site. But recently I discovered it’s the artist ‘Paul lehr’. It’s not actually documented anywhere but there’s no doubt it’s him.

Shining force for the Sega Mega. The first in an epic series of tactical adventures from sega. Although fairly limited in the first instalment the animated battle sequences were very impressive for the time. The promotion system and visible difference for weapon upgrades were all brilliant features. As the series progressed it never failed to be innovative and satisfying to play. Highly recommended.

Latest issue of Retro Gamer magazine. The subscriber cover pays homage to one of the greatest arcades of the 80s. To this day the gameplay is unmatched in its ninja action glory. #セガ

Valis for the Sega Mega Drive. Another rerelease from retro-bit. All three valis mega drive games were produced with a host of extra bonuses. At an affordable these fun action platformers are a great addition to the collection. The gameplay is similar to the style of games such as Rasta’s and even some of the Castlevania games in terms of combat. The fantasy action hack ‘em up style makes a pick and play game that any mega drive fan can enjoy.

Panorama Cotton for the Sega Mega Drive. Another rerelease from Columbus circle. This game is especially important due to the extreme cost of the Japanese original and the fact it was never released in the west. It’s also the only cotton game on the mega drive. The gameplay is in the style of afterburner but a much worse frame rate… it makes up for that with cute and colourful graphics and multiple on screen enemies and objects. It’s definitely a fun game to play but just too chaotic in my opinion. However the cute packaging and simple gameplay still make it a nice collectible which will definitely increase in value

Darius Extra for the Sega Mega Drive. There is more than one cover release of Darius this being the first. Simple power up systems and interesting design make the game really stand out. All sorts of improvements were added to make it was and fairer to play over the original. Recommended for arcade shooter fans
