You’re Paying for Your Website Every Month—But Is It Paying You Back 🧐?

Your website is actually an investment—whether you realize it or not.



Even if you got it for free, you at least have to pay money to keep it online.



The problem is that most websites have not been designed to actually generate business for the owner.



They are instead created like brochures. Simply a place for people to “check out“ the business online (company history, pictures of the staff, a quote from the owner … bla bla bla 🥱).



To see a return on your investment, your website needs to be specifically designed to:

✅ Clearly explain what you offer
✅ Show how it helps your audience
✅ Make it easy for visitors to take action

Is Your Website Not Getting You Any Customers? - This Will Fix It 🔨

If your website isn’t converting visitors into leads or customers, it might be time to consider adding a “landing page“.


The difference between a landing page and a regular webpage is that a landing page is purposefully designed to get your visitors to take a specific action, whether that is contacting you, or making a purchase.


Here are 3 must-haves for a high-converting landing page:

1️⃣ Keep it simple – Stick to one message, one offer, and one call-to-action per page.
2️⃣ Track your conversions – You NEED to know how well your page is performing. For the Caribbean, A 1–2% conversion rate is good (i.e., 1 or two people out of 100).
3️⃣ Update regularly – You have to continuously make small tweaks like adding social proof or simplifying your copy. Overtime this will lead to big improvements in your score, and ultimately the performance of your website.

The Fortune 500 Website Formula - What Do They Know That You Don’t? 🤔

Fortune 500 companies have already cracked the code for websites that convert visitors into customers.

It is actually extremely simple:

1. A clean and focused homepage
2. Big, bold visuals
3. Short, clear text that leads visitors to take action

1 + 2 + 3 = 💳

If you are a small business, following this formula will obviously not turn your business into a Fortune 500 company, but it will definitely get you a hell of a lot more sales than what you currently doing …

Most Small Businesses Are Wasting Money on Websites

I should probably be telling you that you need a custom website. After all, that’s how my company makes the most money. But the truth is, I simply don’t believe a custom website is the best option for most small businesses.

Custom websites are very costly and WILL take an extremely long time to create. They also have a tendency to lead to crazy designs that are more confusing than helpful to your customers.

(I can talk about why this happens in another post)

… That is why I recommend what I call the “Semi-Custom” Approach:

Step 1 - Pick a professionally designed theme that “kinda“ looks like the website you want.

Step 2 - Work with a programmer (or agency) to customize it so it’s “unique” to your brand.

I’m sharing this because I genuinely believe it’s the best solution for most businesses.

At the end of the day, a website’s success isn’t about how “unique” it is—it’s about how effectively it communicates the value of what you are selling to your customers, and how easy it is for them to find the information they are looking for.
