solution through the development of openAPI, offering a standardized platform for the disposal of openDBL. The project pursues 3 objectives: 1) create a DBL with useful content and functionalities,
2) ensure our DBL is usable and simple to use, reducing the time spent to upload, search and use the information and data to facilitate usage and gain wide adoption,

𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗗𝗕𝗟 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 🎉

On 4 February in Brussels, at the ENEA Liaison Office headquarters, openDBL held its final review meeting with consortium partners, European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) representatives, and external evaluators.

The final results highlighted the strong innovative value of the solutions developed and their potential impact on the AECO sector. Evaluators positively assessed both the activities and outcomes, confirming the solidity and relevance of the work achieved ✅.

A key milestone of the meeting was the 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝘂𝘃𝗼 𝗱𝗶 𝗣𝘂𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗮, 𝗞𝗶𝗳𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗮, establishing a long-term strategic alliance based on European values and continued cooperation.

For Mislata, this twinning builds on the international relationships developed during the project and opens opportunities for future joint European initiatives in digitalisation, environmental sustainability, and public-private partnerships, while continuing to share municipal expertise and innovation capacity.

openDBL demonstrates how digitalisation can make construction processes more effective, efficient, and sustainable across the entire building life cycle.

A Remarkable Moment for Opendbl at Web Summit 2025 in Lisbon! 🎉

Today, our Project Coordinator, Italo Spada, together with Dario Cardone from the CETMA team, showcased the openDBL experience at the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) stand.

Visitors had the chance to explore one of our pilot sites, the 𝗚𝗶𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶 𝗕𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗼 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝘃𝗼 𝗱𝗶 𝗣𝘂𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗮, 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆 — through an immersive 𝟯𝗗 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿 that brings buildings and infrastructures to life in virtual reality. 🏫🕶️

This showcase offered a unique opportunity to present 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗗𝗕𝗟’𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 to a global innovation audience — demonstrating how our platform is advancing 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 in the industry. 💡

During his presentation, Italo highlighted how Opendbl is driving Europe’s digital transition in the building sector. 🏆 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟯𝗿𝗱 Opendbl 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻!

On 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, participants gathered at the Municipality of Kifissia (Δήμος Κηφισιάς) to explore creative solutions using the 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗗𝗕𝗟 𝟯𝗗 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿, focusing on challenges in waste and energy management.

Three teams composed of professionals, researchers, and students, presented impressive ideas and concepts:

• 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝟭 addressed regulations, insurance, and building safety, covering inspections, fire and earthquake resistance, and facility operations.

• 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝟮 showcased a 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 that integrates real-time IoT data, occupancy patterns, and energy metrics for interactive facility management.

• 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝟯 introduced a 𝗤𝗥 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺, linking building elements to historical maintenance data and generating a “heat map of pain” for easier upkeep.

All teams excelled in 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, so every participant received a medal! 🥇🥈🥉

🎉 13 Partners, 8 Countries, 3 Years – Here Comes the Opendbl Final Event!

Yesterday, the Opendbl Final Event, hosted by our project partner, the Municipality of Kifissia (Δήμος Κηφισιάς), Greece, celebrated three years of collaboration, innovation, and digital transformation in the AECO industry across 8 countries and 13 partners.

Italo Spada , Project Coordinator, opened with an overview of openDBL’s technology, mission, vision, and consortium. Following him, Mario Caputi project inventor, shared insights into the platform’s business perspective and scalability.

Kifissia General Secretary Georgios Kokkolis welcomed attendees and then the four pilot presentations took place: 🇬🇷Kifissia – Nursery School Villa Michl & Town Hall, 🇮🇹 Ruvo di Puglia – Giovanni Bovio School, 🇪🇸 Mislata – La Fábrica Sociocultural Center, and 🇩🇪 Ennepetal – dormakaba Research Center.

All pilot sites showcased how Opendbl enhances smart building management, including energy and utility monitoring, sensor integration, maintenance tracking, and data-driven decision-making, resulting in safer, more efficient, and human-centered building operations.

The Mayor of Mislata, Carlos Fernández Bielsa, expressed pride in hosting the openDBL project, emphasizing the city’s commitment to innovation and sustainable buildings.

A panel discussion, moderated by Mario Caputi, brought together representatives from all pilot sites to share their experiences, implementation insights, and lessons learned.

Then, in the evening, as part of the Smart Cities Workshop during Kifissia Climate Week, the CETMA team demonstrated the VR Viewer, allowing participants to explore the Giovanni Bovio School pilot site in immersive virtual reality.

Additional showcases included the Smart Quality Control App, the openDBL platform, and AI solutions developed under the project, highlighting innovations for smarter, more sustainable cities.

The full event was moderated by Debolina Paul, Project Manager at Digiotouch R&D, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for all attendees.

Opendbl continues to drive a data-driven, sustainable future for the AECO industry — digital buildings with a human heart, centering people and the environment in innovation.

🚀𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗗𝗕𝗟 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿!

Yesterday, partners gathered in 𝗞𝗶𝗳𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮, 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗲 🇬🇷, for the seventh and last face-to-face meeting, hosted by the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗶𝗳𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮 (Δήμος Κηφισιάς). This meeting marked the closing phase of three years of collaboration and innovation.

The agenda focused on reviewing the 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗗𝗕𝗟 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺, identifying the last components to complete before its official closing in 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, and showcasing the project’s main results through a series of 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. These included progress across the four pilot sites, encompassing integration within the platform, access control installations, sensor deployment, data models, and mobile app testing.

Additionally, insights on business model development, exploitation planning, and strategies to ensure long-term sustainability through commercial, academic, and training initiatives were discussed.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲-𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 were also highlighted, reinforcing openDBL’s collaboration with other European initiatives and stakeholders, as well as its role in promoting digital transformation across the 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗔𝗘𝗖𝗢) sector.

As the project officially concludes this December, today’s 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 will celebrate three years of teamwork, innovation, and a shared vision in delivering an open, interoperable 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 for Europe’s building industry.
