स्मार्टफोन में ब्लास्ट होने या आग लगने के मामले नए नहीं हैं और अब इसके चलते एक यूजर की मौत से जुड़ी खबर आई है। ओडिशा के पारादीप में एक यूजर की स्मार्टफोन फटने से मौत हो गई। युवक अपना स्मार्टफोन चार्जिंग पर लगाकर सो गया था और बिस्तर के पास चार्जिंग पर लगा डिवाइस फट गया और युवक को पहुंची चोटों की वजह से उसकी मौत हो गई। बता दें, चार्जिंग के दौरान स्मार्टफोन की बैटरी दरअसल रसायनिक प्रक्रिया से गुजरती है। ऐसे में फोन पर दबाव या एक सीमा से ज्यादा उसका गर्म होना फोन फटने की वजह बनता है।

BSNL ने ये जानकारी दी है कि अब से 399 रुपये और इससे ऊपर के एनुअल ब्रॉडबैंड प्लान्स के साथ अब मुफ्त ऐमेजॉन प्राइम सब्सक्रिप्शन मिलेगा.

सरकारी टेलीकॉम कंपनी BSNL ने शनिवार को आधिकारिक तौर पर ये घोषणा की है कि कंपनी के 399 रुपये और इससे ऊपर के एनुअल ब्रॉडबैंड प्लान्स के साथ अब मुफ्त ऐमेजॉन प्राइम सब्सक्रिप्शन मिलेगा. ऐमेजॉन प्राइम का फ्री सब्सक्रिप्शन एक साल के लिए दिया जाएगा, जिसकी कीमत 999 रुपये है. इस ऑफर को देशभर में लागू कर दिया गया है, जहां BSNL द्वारा ब्रॉडबैंड सेवाएं दी जाती हैं.

पहले इंटरनेट सर्विस प्रोवाइडर द्वारा ऐमेजॉन प्राइम का फ्री सब्सक्रिप्शन 499 रुपये से ऊपर के ब्रॉडबैंड प्लान्स के साथ दिया जाता था. हालांकि अब कंपनी ने 399 रुपये वाले किफायती प्लान को भी शामिल किया है. इसके अलावा आपको बता दें BSNL द्वारा ग्राहकों को एनुअल ब्रॉडबैंड प्लान्स पर कैशबैक ऑफर भी दिया जा रहा है. इस ऑफर के तहत ग्राहकों को 25 प्रतिशत तक की कैशबैक का लाभ दिया जा रहा है.

आपको बता दें हाल ही में AGM के दौरान जियो ने अपने जियोफाइबर के कमर्शियल लॉन्च की धोषणा की थी. ऐसे में इसकी घोषणा के बाद से ही बाकी कंपनियां हरकत में आ गईं हैं और अपने प्लान्स को जियो से मुकाबले के लिए पहले से बेहतर कर रही हैं. ऐसे में BSNL द्वारा 399 रुपये और इससे ऊपर के एनुअल ब्रॉडबैंड प्लान्स के साथ फ्री ऐमेजॉन प्राइम सब्सक्रिप्शन दिए जाने को ऐसे ही कदम के रूप में देखा जा सकता है.

Google Removes 85 Apps From Play Store Over Adware: Trend Micro

Majority of the apps that were discovered by Trend Micro were found to be disguised as photography as well as gaming apps.

Google has removed 85 apps from its Play Store after security researchers at Trend Micro found a particularly annoying adware hiding inside.

"We found another example of adware's potential real-life impact on Google Play. Trend Micro detects this as AndroidOS_Hidenad.HRXH. Apart from displaying advertisements that are difficult to close, it employs unique techniques to evade detection through user behaviour and time-based triggers," Ecular Xu, mobile threat response engineer at Trend Micro, wrote in a blog post on Friday.

According to the company, majority of the apps that were discovered were found to be disguised as photography as well as gaming apps and were downloaded over eight million times.

Super Selfie, Cos Camera, Pop Camera, and One Stroke Line Puzzle were the most popular among the 85 apps that were discovered by Trend Micro as being adware-infected.

As per the report, the apps were uploaded on the Play Store from different developer accounts and were signed by different digital certificates, but they exhibited similar behaviours and shared the same code.

WhatsApp Brings Fingerprint Lock Feature to Android With Latest Beta

WhatsApp has finally made available to fingerprint lock feature for Android beta users, after making it available to iOS users for a while now. It comes with the latest Android beta version 2.19.221, and is disabled by default. Users will need to enable it in Settings, and this feature will allow users to add a layer of protection to their app chats, keeping lurkers at bay. There's also a new ‘show content in notifications' option added allowing users to decide if they want to show or hide message and sender preview when the fingerprint lock is enabled.

As mentioned, the fingerprint lock option is enabled in the Android beta version 2.19.221 - currently the latest version. It is disabled by default, and users will have to enable it by going to WhatsApp Settings > Account > Privacy > Fingerprint lock. If you have already updated to the latest version, and don't see the feature, try backing up chat history and reinstalling the same WhatsApp version. Notably, the feature requires the phone to be running Android Marshmallow or higher, and feature a fingerprint scanner.

When enabled, users will need to use fingerprint authentication to unlock WhatsApp and gain access. There are three options for ‘automatically lock' to choose from – immediately, after 1 minute, and after 30 minutes. Users can choose from these options according to their preference. Choosing the' immediately' option will require the user to fingerprint authenticate every time they close and open the app.

There's a 15 minute option on the iOS app, but that hasn't trickled down to the Android version, and hopefully the company will introduce it when the feature is rolled out in the stable version. In Android, there is a new option called Show content in notifications, so users can decide if they want to show or hide message and sender preview when the Fingerprint lock is enabled.

If you do not enable this option, users can still reply to messages from notifications and answer WhatsApp calls, because the authentication is only set to when you want to open WhatsApp. WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo says that when you enable the Fingerprint Lock feature, the widget content is hidden by default.

WABetaInfo spotted this feature first, and says, “I can say that it's safe for your privacy to enable the Fingerprint lock feature because WhatsApp, as any other app, cannot access to your fingerprint data: the authentication process is managed by the Android system: WhatsApp uses official Android APIs, so no information is sent to WhatsApp/Facebook Server.”
