No matter what I do, there’s always a thought or intention behind it.

I’m a lacto-vegetarian, and one thing I’ve noticed is how scarce vegan and vegetarian places can be, even in India. Especially being born and brought up in the Eastern Himalayas, this is something I’ve seen quite closely. I’ve also watched some really good ones close down over the years.

So, I thought of sketching cafés/restaurants as a small way of supporting their existence, just putting them out there, one sketch at a time.

This is UPPU - A South Indian Kitchen, a beautiful vegetarian restaurant in Mumbai that I came across, and honestly, I’ve been sketching it for over a month, squeezing in little bits of time between busy schedules. With every sketch I make, I find myself wishing these cafés a little more love, more people, and many more years of thriving.

And if you like what I’m trying to do here, please share this post or send it to someone who would appreciate it. It would really help me keep this little project going. 🤍

Also, if you know of a vegetarian or vegan café that you’d love to see me sketch next, tag them in the comments. I’d love to discover more.

There’s usually a spark of an idea and the excitement of wanting to see it exist, even when it sounds a little crazy when you say it out loud. I’ve always been drawn to people who dare to think differently.

A half formed idea on a phone call. A reference saved from somewhere. A sentence like, “I want it to feel warm, but not too polished.”

Then comes the desk, the sketches, the photographs, the colours, the endless moving things around until something finally feels right.

And these are a few of those ideas, sketches and conversations that eventually made their way into the real world.

You can call me Syna or Simran, that’s up to you.

But before I’m a social media manager, I’m simply someone who’s endlessly curious.

I’ve always believed that creativity doesn’t come from doing one thing. It comes from everything you choose to learn.

Reading taught me how to tell stories.
Interior design taught me how people experience a space.
Travel taught me to notice the little details.
Music taught me rhythm and emotion.
Nature taught me patience.
And being a foodie taught me that the smallest experiences are often the most memorable.

None of these feel separate from the work I do today.

They’ve shaped the way I build brands.

That’s also why I’m naturally drawn to experiential spaces—boutique hotels, farm stays, cafés, architects, interior designers, real estate, wellness brands, and nature retreats.

Because branding these spaces isn’t just about making beautiful posts.

It’s about understanding how a place feels before translating that feeling into a visual identity, a story, and an online presence people genuinely connect with.

Every project I take on is built on everything I’ve learnt outside of marketing.

Maybe that’s what makes my work a little different.

It isn’t just strategy.
It’s a lifetime of curiosity finding its way into every brand I work with.

For this project with Shree Shyam Jewels, we developed the entire photography concept from the ground up. I personally selected fabrics that aligned with the brand moodboard we had created, ensuring every detail felt intentional.

In the last slide, you’ll notice how the fabric subtly echoes the Instagram highlight covers. It wasn’t about repetition, but about creating a sense of continuity across the brand.

We also had the pleasure of creating the nomenclature for these beautiful jewellery pieces.

Because a strong brand is built in the details.

A font pairing can say luxury.
It can say warmth.
It can say craftsmanship.

Typography sets the tone before a single word is read.
Whether it's a boutique hotel, a café, a jewellery brand, or a lifestyle venture, the right font combination helps create a feeling people remember.

Marketing is not child’s play.

When you really sit down and do the work with utter seriousness, the long list that emerges is astounding. The tiny details that need refinement, the loopholes that need fixing, and the many gaps that are leaving a business behind all need to be examined. Otherwise, simply posting on Instagram is useless when the backend work is not done properly.

Everything matters.

A booking rarely starts at the doorstep.

Sometimes, it begins with a search. A few photos. A pause before deciding.

For Auks Farm, we worked not only on the Airbnb listings, but also on how the place appears on Google — revisiting images, correcting details, and slowly shaping a clearer digital presence.

The stay begins a little earlier than we think.

Auks Farm offers different cottages, each listed separately on Airbnb, while also being available together for larger gatherings and group bookings.

For this project, we revisited and refined each Airbnb listing — updating images, improving details, identifying gaps, and making thoughtful changes along the way.

In many ways, the process feels similar to renovating a home. Small refinements over time, layer by layer, until both the inside and outside begin to feel more aligned and complete. And much like that, the experience of discovering and staying at the space keeps getting better day by day.

Sometimes, it’s not about changing everything — just refining what already exists.

For Auks Farm, the shift was more intentional — moving towards clearer storytelling, thoughtful details, and a feed that truly reflects the space as a farmstay and the overall experience of staying there.

A small before & after of the Instagram page — where we brought more clarity, helped people feel more organically connected to the brand, and focused on increasing meaningful engagement and bookings, rather than simply chasing followers without real growth.

Branding a stay is about shaping how a place feels before someone even arrives.

Auks Farm is a family-run farmstay tucked away in the quiet, offbeat region of Soreng, Darjeeling, surrounded by a peaceful countryside setting. Still largely undiscovered, it is a place best suited for nature lovers, slow travellers, and those seeking a moment of stillness away from the noise of cities and demanding routines.

Built around sustainable living, the farmstay grows much of what it serves, offering guests fresh, seasonal food sourced directly from the land itself.

Personally, this is the kind of place and way of living we feel deeply drawn to — rooted in nature, slower rhythms, and simple, meaningful experiences. Perhaps that is also why we hope to continue working with brands that value care, intention, and a strong connection to nature.

Our engagement with the brand spans an ongoing journey of shaping perception — from narrative and visual language to digital presence and hospitality-led storytelling.
